Youre A Wasted Fuck, And I'm Something Else

So I'm reading a 1000 page bio of Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson, the CSA military genius, and chief lieutenant of Robert E. Lee. I've read numerous bios of this man, and this effort is by a Brit army officer who lived when the Civil War happened. He actually spoke to General Lee. The writing is superior to much of whats written today, and the insights are wonderous. Colonel Henderson brings the war to life.

But the soul of the book is an epistemogical truth I believe devoutly, and Lee did, too. THE MEANING OF ANYTHING IS THE RESULT YOU GET. If you aim for the bullseye and hit someones ass you found a new way to hit an ass. Your purpose means nothing.

American historians don't get it. When Jackson went to Manassas Virginia with a small force, and attacked General Pope with an army 3X greater, and lured General McClellan's army north away from Richmond, Americans believe Jackson was mad. Especially when he ran out of ammunition and his soldiers threw rocks at the enemy. But Lee had two outcomes in mind: Stop Pope from coming to Richmond and lure McClellan away. Jackson accomplished both goals. Plus destroyed a huge supply depot and got Pope fired.

I'm noticing such outcomes in writing. The writer leads me along a path then T-bones me from an alley.
