Your perfect world.

Thanks, Pantux.

You could, as you say, move south but for our planetary engineering purposes let's reduce the axial tilt a little. We don't want to mess too much if Earth is already perfect for you - how does 18° to 20° sound?

I am guessing that will would help but what would that do to the ice caps? I have been thinking about this I read a lot of science fiction. I started thinking about perfect worlds in Sci Fi. Sci Fi planets have A lot of very harsh conditions. Extreme deserts extreme ice planets, really nasty creatures. There is something that those planets offer. In Dune it is the Spice. The local inhabitants adapt to the conditions. Perfect worlds are in the clouds or pleasure planets but no matter how perfect the planet there is always some issues. The environment of the planet leads to how the inhabitants develop. In SciFi harsh tends to be more fun. Once again great question.

Would anyone else like to describe either their ideal place to live or their ideal place to set a story?

In a perfect world we wouldn’t have faults. We need certain failures and faults to make a way for better ways of completing things. Case in point, the telephone. It began with a wall unit, phone lines and a rotary function meeting an operator to be patched through. Now there are cellphone towers and 5G.

There is no such thing as perfection because it can always be upgraded and made better. Attitudes are something different. Attitudes are subjective and varies. Without differing opinions, effective brainstorming wouldn’t happen. There is a need for varying opinions to improve upon what is already here.

It would be nice to be able to brainstorm and consider differing opinions in order to think of a plan A, B, C and beyond if things were to happen just in case. That would lead to money being used for things not even used in this lifetime and possibly forgotten as to why it was originally set in place. The common theme is preparation for the future. Implementation is more of the challenge.

Tangible things may be able to be figured out, but people’s thoughts are a bit different. Since there are differences of opinions of what is important and what isn’t, seeing eye to eye to stay focused is challenging. Everyone wants to be right and not admit fault or that they’re wrong.
