When I was a kid I used to watch Gilligan's Island and fantasize about spending the rest of my life with Mary Ann. The mere mention of that name (or Maryanne) makes me all squishy on the inside. :heart:
 
First part should be self explanatory...and the second part is because of an act I like to do and hence a nickname I was given. :D
 
Was playing on a band name generator and thought it sounded offbeat and vaguely rude

"Whiskeyjacks" was the name of my first fantasy football team. There used to be a minor league baseball team in Canada called the Thunder Bay Whiskey Jacks, and I just thought that was the coolest name of anything I'd ever heard of (I was probably around 12 or so at the time). I eventually learned it was the name of a small bird, not a term for big beardy manly men going out into the whiskey forests to chop down whiskey trees to harvest all the whiskies. But it was still a cool name.

Surfer because I am one.
Sol because in Spanish, Sol means sun and I enjoy the sun (and I have Spanish ancestors and there’s a ton of Spanish heritage down here in Southern California). And Sol is a play on ‘soul’ also because being a “soul surfer” means you do it for the love and soul of it. Sol(soul)Surfer.
 
I am often asked how I came up with mine, and unfortunately, that story is a bit anti-climactic. I wanted to come up with something much different than I had done elsewhere online, so I pulled the first seemingly appropriate adjective that came to mind, which was "voracious." I'm not 100% sure where that came from, but I suspect it came from the Ray Stevens song "Erik the Awful" (which I absolutely love), and "voracious" is used quite often in that tune.

I wanted to add another noun or similar, and I happened to be in an alliterative mood at the time, so the word "value" came to mind, and I thought "VoraciousValue" sounded sufficiently eccentric. 😁 I was going for that because:

A. I am totally eccentric as fuck. That should be obvious by now. :p

B. I wanted people to notice me. I feel left out of most things in my life, and that's grated on me for some years now.

Yep. Totally fucked up story. That's where it came from.
