Speaking of big scenes, that reminded me of an Xmas song called 'Silver Bells.' Somewhere in there is the line 'This is Santa's big scene...' Imagine Santa as a Dom. Heck, he already has the whip (I think).

it was all about new toys, between the 2 of us we got a few new toys and they NEEDED to be tried : a flogger, a riding crop and a dressage whip

How does a dressage whip differ from others and what kind of mark does it leave? Sounds like sweet torture!

a dressage whip is also known as a carriage whip. it is a long flexiable stick/rob with a bullwhip type cracker at the business end

as far as marks it leaves long lasting (at least in Daddy's hands) welted lines about pencil size. there is nothing sweet about it, it is my most feared toy, floggers,cats, paddles, snake whips, quirts ect... i can take without actually getting out of the way, the dressage whip made me actually jump away from it after the 10th crack, which in turn caused me to get 10 more . this item is saved now for severe punishment and held over my head when Daddy wants me to do something He knows i really do NOT want to do

Can relate to this in the dread it creates, but also the desire for more where I am concerned. Can't say it can ever take the place of the stockwhip though. We usually work with that until he has covered my back and thighs with beautiful stripes and welts, so many they blend into one big reddened mass of throbbing flesh, and sometimes drawing blood. Last week the stockwhip followed the flogger and then dressage whip and was sublime, but I am a major pain slut I am told.

I've got one of those, and I hardly use it. I wonder why? Hmmm.

This brings back so many memories...the excitement, the hope, disappointment, disilusionment, curiousity, despair...and then the need to get the engines to kick back in and get back to working through the list until the perfect one arrived. Hang in there as the wait makes it all worthwhile....and more valued when you find it.
