It's not daytime anymore!

You remind me of a male bluebell. I bet you're cute like her, too.

I have not had the honour of meeting the bluebell you mention, but I was born in mid-bluebell season and my mother always says they remind her of me. Small, blue, fragile and increasingly endangered, I assume she means. But she has long been a stranger to reason.

See?!? TWINSIES! Therefore I automatically love you.

I made chicken ala vodka tonight and it was awful. Okay, I thought it was awful; the menfolk ate it.

But it was awful.

You talk of automatic love, and I think of Barbarella in the Orgasmatron. That's distracting.

I should make a sandwich to take my mind off things. Just not beef. Or tuna. Or butter. Ah, hell.

No, I'll search for Bluebell, my long lost twin. That's what I'll do. It will be a fairytale reunion, and you shall be our fairy godmother if you are willing. Wish me Godspeed!

Men are pigs.

We will eat anything.
Thank god. I cook a lot.

Godspeed, you adorable blue little man.

Just ordered 28 bags of whole bean from Cafe Brit and a 5LB Genoa Salami Log, Black Label Blue Cheese and cave aged ementaller swiss from iGourmet.

Yum...

Pardon moi. I ordered the Maytag Blue Cheese from Iowa this time. Supposed to be good.

I should have known...it's probably what they would consider a light snack.

Did you know the story about Clarissa Dickson Wright's gin?

They made it for a bunch of Boy Scouts.

Aside from the fact that she drank A LOT of it in her younger years, no. Do you have a story?

How do you make it? Mine is just oysters, butter, and half & half with salt and pepper.

I make a roux with butter and flour. Then add milk and cream. Let it thicken, then salt and pepper then turn off the heat and add a pint of oysters.

She was feeling very ill, and yellowish. On going to her doctor, he explained after blood tests, etc that she had quinine poisoning, and said that he had encountered it occasionally with tropical explorers, etc, taking massive amounts of anti-malarials for years on end. She explained that she had not left Europe for years and had never, to her knowledge, taken an anti-malarial drug. Then the conversation apparently went something like this:

CDW: 'There's quinine in tonic water, isn't there?'
Doctor: <Laughs> Yes, but in small quantities. You'd have to be drinking gallons of the stuff every day for it to have this kind of effect.
CDW: 'I have 2 litres of gin a day, always as a G+T.'
Doctor:'????.....!!!!!!!! That might do it.'

Quinine poisoning. From gin and tonic. There is something heroic about that, isn't there?

I know, right? I know. That...thing...is to an ordinary ham sandwich what the Saturn V rocket is to a catapult. You can see they are distantly related, but there are orders of magnitude there.

I think if I had one of these in a picnic I would send everyone else home. I'd want to spend the whole day getting to know it. Including its exciting fungal growths. I like mushrooms.
Stellar post, drool-worthy recipe. I bookmarked the fuck out of it, for I also adore sandwiches, steaks, mushrooms, and food fondling.

Jeepers, woman, talk about a compliment to me! Des is a lively mind and an excellent poster. I'm all drivel and lolcats. And Garnate adoration. *leg humps*

Here I am.
My condolences that you have to meet me this way. :D

Good morning, Beautiful

I've always made it or had it made either sautéed in garlic butter or a very fine coating of flour and seasoning and fried in garlic butter.

I had some yesterday with cream and onion, s&p.

So good.

<Bows deeply.> Madam, it is a singular honour to meet my own twin after so long and so unwitting a separation. I blush at your compliments to me, but you have clear precedence in your Garnate-adoration - I am but a recent acolyte, whereas after so many years you must be at least a High Priestess. <Observes leg humps closely. Takes notes.>
