Your favorite

I'm torn, so I'm going to have to be rebellious and post two too.

Comfort Food's normally the one that I give as my favourite, because I'm really proud of the way I made my character. It's definitely one of my better pieces of writing and is complimented by the fact that it was a really good idea.
Use Your Imagination is a new favourite because it's so close to my heart. I love the characters and I love the idea (and the person) that sparked it.

The Earl

I still like both the long ones, but let me put in a plug for a short one.

Jip, Chapter One is self-contained as a story, and is a lot of great group fun.

I only have 3 works submitted so far. At the moment I'd pick my poem "You awakened me, my love".

I love that poem, Elf! :) It has a wonderful cadence that makes me want to recite it aloud and the words just draw these sweet memories out of me.

I think my favorite story is Caressing the Veil. I wrote it for the Halloween contest and while it didn't do so well there, it's rating has come up considerably.

Why is it my favorite? Well, cause writing it was a real letting go for me. I'd been waiting for someone to come around and "be mine" and I finally figured out that it just wasn't going to happen. When I sat to write Caressing it all came out in a rush and when it was done, I was ready to walk away from that other relationship. It was so cleansing. It's real, honest, sad and healing. For me, anyway.

Can't wait to go back and read everyone else's. Thanks for starting this Shanglan.

Thank you Yui :rose:

It just kinda came to me out of the blue. 'Course once I had it playing in my mind I had to write the words down and give them life. I'm glad you liked my poem. Thanks.

It is pretty good. Thanks for pointing it out to us, elfie. :)

So far I've read Liar's, Dranoel's (which I am so delighted with that I can hardly stop kicking myself for not reading it sooner), Gauche's, and Cookiejar's - and every one of them superb in its own way. I am, honestly, quite prostrated by the talent around me and for once utterly humbled. Thank you all for your wonderful work.

There's some real treasure here. Thanks for starting the thread, Shanglan.

Okay, my new favorite is the one I submitted maybe 5 minutes ago....I'll let you know when it's up. :D

Karen, I read your Finding Words story. Astounding. Thank you.

I only have one story up, but I just finished chapter 2. I have gotten a few nice comments on Not Quite Strangers. The link is in my sig.(Shanglan Liked it!)

Have two too

but they're 2 chapters of 1 story -D'orr's and D'orr's Part 2. About 3 lit pgs each. I like the main character, and it was fun to develop.

Dndjsp's story is good, too, but a little bit clumsy in the first couple paragraphs. After that, it hits its groove and carries you right through.
