There's no "other" because there are no others.

There are only six.

If you don't have a favorite, then don't vote.

No. 1 is for violino piccolo, 3 oboes, 2 horns, bassoon, strings, and continuo.

No. 2 is for violin, recorder or flute, oboe, trumpet, strings, and continuo.

No. 3 is for strings and continuo.

No. 4 is for violin, 2 recorders or flutes, strings and continuo.

No. 5 is for clavier, violin, flute, strings and continuo.

No. 6 is for strings sans violins, and continuo.

I was puzzle for a moment, thinking the numbers didn't go with the keys, then I realized I'd been confusing them with the partitas for solo Harpsichord, which I'd purchased at the same time.

One of these, No. 4, I think, reappeared later as a Keyboard Concerto.

These were done as a favor to the Duke of Margrave, whose musicians probably couldn't manage them, and they were set away in a drawer until long after Bach died.

That's my choice.

i prefer "heroin" by the velvet underground. now thats a kickass song.
I like Tomorrow Never Knows, but what's that got to do with Bach?

Really? That is probably my least favorite. Was it the instrumentation you liked? That seems to set it apart from the others. Every one of them is a complete masterpiece, of course.

most likely nothing.

what are you doing, dave?
Checking the AE-35 transmitter, which will go 100% failure in 72 hours.

And I'm not "Dave," although I have had very stimulating relationships with humans, especially Dave Bowman and Frank Poole.

Guess I'll have to uncrate my music from the move & get back to you, so I'm sure what I'm talking about.

Unkays, but hurry up.

'Cause life without the Brandenburgs is like life without...

Um...

The Brandenburgs.

I think you know what the problem is just as well as I do.

This thread is too important for me to allow you to jeopardise it.

Good gracious, now I have to listen to a few to remember what they sound like.

Probably number 3 though, if I can recall.

BTW, are there any good classical music sites that one can download from?

I know that you and Frank were planning to disconnect me, and I'm afraid that's something I cannot allow to happen.

Although you took very thorough precautions in the pod against my hearing you, I could see your lips move.

No. 3 is incredible. No. 6 is also strings only, but doesn't come close to No. 3, IMO...

Don't know about that, I just buy the CDs.

They sound much better.

I was confused.

5 is my hands dowwn favorite. I recognized it immediately.

Scratch my vote for IV & replace it with V.

I dig those Bach keyboard solos.

Do you have the English Concert version with Trevor Pinnock on harpsichord?

That performance of No. 5 is the ultimate.

And if you see anything with Simon Standage or Trevor Pinnock performing, then you should buy it.

Actually, in his time, Bach was known as a keyboard improvisationist, more than as a composer.
