Your AV - how and why??

Since I recently got my very own AV thanks to the coolest (and hottest) chick on Lit, Riles, I've been wondering about everyone else's. Why did you pick your AV?

Does it mean something special to you and only you?

Was it convenient?

Did you want to confuse everyone?

Okay sometimes I think it's cool, other times it's damned convenient, but now it's just scary - GET OUT OF MY HEAD! I was going to make this exact thread.

Why? not for me. It got a lot of threads and psots about it at first, and people are still bitching about having me take it down.

Besides if I out the av, I JUST thought about putting up, something I've got here, adn am looking at, people could recognize me, because it's something personal. not that anyone I know comes here...

Well, this av is a new look for me. I generally use erotic prints that have some subtlety to them because I enjoy them. Each of them says something to or about me.

I have some that were gifts.

Now, this one, well, I decided to just be me for a bit and see what the general response of the posters at large would be. I don't mean to suggest that my looks were the imperative piece, they aren't, thank God! I mean that I was curious to see if I was recieved differently without a sexual av.

I also felt like I was hiding behind the art. I am not suggesting that everyone must post real pics. Geesh, it took me 18 months to do this, but that for me, it was the right thing to do.



And it is a beautiful av, Eve!

I have admiration for people who are brave enough to post their pics on the internet. However, I also have a lot of admiration for people who take the time and effort to find an artistic av that really says something about themselves. In a way, it's six one way, half a dozen another.

Was in the mood. I alter my AV depending on what I feel like at that moment.

No, currently it means something special to the person I'm thinking about.

Oh definitely. They all are. Fun too!

Hmm...since I usually only put myself in my AV I don't think I intend to confuse anyone.

I saw it. I liked it. It fit my mood.

I've got a harddrive full of avs and when I'm bored I go surfing for pics that appeal to me.

In general, it's the composition of an av that appeals to me first and content second. With a few exceptions, of course. Some just make me laugh.

No, actually,

There hasn't been a whole lot of difference in terms of other people's reaction to me or my posts.

In fact, if anything, I have gotten more positive and sincere comments on this av than others.

However, I have a hard time posting fluff with this face on!

It just feels so wrong!

at first, I used one of the house I grew up in, covered in snow, because it was convenient... then i had a black and white piece of art, but it didn't really do it for me.

now I have this.. i love this picture because of the composition of the image, the suggestion of medusa by the tentacles, the illusion that one of them might be coming out of, or going down, her throat... the colors are my favorites, and i think the water is really well painted... i can never paint things out of my head - just copy other things really really well - but i wish i could paint like this.

The why is because I haven't played around and taken any new pictures in over a month and this was already on my hard drive thus convenient.

I actually prefer the ones of my face more.. but I get tired of seeing it all the bloody time as I'm sure everyone else does. lol
