So slap me and call me a sassy sub, but I wonder... could BDSM become TOO mainstream? I thought I'd open a comedy thread for anyone to post what would indicate that had happened. For instance:

You know BDSM has become too mainstream when Barns & Nobles/WH Smiths starts selling "Sadomassochism for Dummies."

You know BDSM has become too mainstream when pet shops start listing their collars in animal and human sizes.

You know BDSM has become too mainstream when your boss says he's going to be tied up all afternoon and you know it's true because you're the one doing the tying.

You know BDSM has become too mainstream when Wal-Mart has floggers and handcuffs available in the sporting goods section.

You know BDSM has become too mainstream when a caning shop doesn't have anything to do with fixing furniture.

Become too mainstream? Please, drop the pretentiousness.

No pretentiousness intended - perhaps I didn't make it obvious that this thread was intended to be jocular.

jocular? lol, perhaps you mean humourous?

dammit, just looked jocular up and it is a word, kudos in doing that, not always that someone manges to stump me vocabularily lol

You know BDSM has become too mainstream when your local craft fair has several leather booths :)

Let's see, minus 10 for jocular, and minus 15 for attempting to create an adverb out of a noun. You're at 775 on the new writing SAT section and dropping like shit from a mallard in the middle of duck season. Care to gamble yet again?

Keep the panties on studly. i'm in a slightly irritated mood, and just kidding.

Lol, angelic, the made up word vocabilarily was the joke......
and besides there isn't any SAT in canada.

Sorry, couldn't resist any longer . . .

You know that BDSM has become too mainstream when your parents can properly identify what the flags on your car mean.

You know that BDSM has become too mainstream when Blockbuster and Hollywood Video start a section just for BDSM videos.

You know BDSM is too mainsteam when the slave markets in are back in business.

Oh man, I just got this picture of the old Slave Market in Charleston, SC, with a banner strewn across it in big red letters saying "Back in business!!" Of course, nowadays it's been renamed the politically correct term of the "public market." Still though, the thought gave me a chuckle.

You know BDSM has become too mainstream when well known PYLs are promoting Pepsi with a "weird insertion" commercial with their pyl.

You know BDSM has become too mainstream when they finally do make a DomDepot.

You know BDSM has become too mainstream where there is a category of submissive known as "princess subs". :p

Gracie gracie gracie.. shaking my head sadly You don't slap a sassy sub; it only encourages them...

As I was signing up for the bdsm club here in town (on the day I met D, as a matter of fact..) I was signing the 3rd piece of paper when I sighed and said "you know bdsm has become more mainstream when the paperwork must be filed in triplicate."

Vocabularily? Since when does one turn a noun into an adverb? You are hereby sentenced to six months' hard labor in the Language Nazi thread!
