I never minded my own family stopping over for a visit. It was my ex-MIL & FIL that always drove me nuts with their popping in. They lived 8 minutes away and found numerous reasons to drop by. No problem, right? They're nice people and were usually bringing something over for us, BUT when your MIL is Martha Stewart's reincarnate and I am NOT it's a royal pain in the ass. I mean, who decorates their entire home for Flag Day? WTF?

LOLOL I rekon I'm lucky in that my In-Laws don't fly so they would have to drive down here from Vermont. My parents are extremely old school and wouldn't think of dropping by without an invitation. My brother and sister can't be bothered to come visiting as there is no money to be had.

My eldest neice on the other hand decided to make an unanounced trip to Florida and came by one afternoon to visit. Unfortunately for her and her husband they decided to walk in on us while we were relaxing in the late afternoon sun. For some reason they were quite disconcerted as well as more than a little embarrased when they walked in and found us sunbathing in the nude. (They were even more upset at my parents answer to their letter of complaint. They were asked what they had expected, they knew my wife and I were quite unabashadly sexual in our relationship unlike them.)

Needless to say I don't have many un-announced visitors. (Then again I don't have many visitors, which suits me just fine. )
