You are MINE (closed)

When the blow came, Lance couldn't say he wasn't expecting it. Once the office door clicked closed, Gabriella's face hardened, even more than he'd seen the first time she tried to dominate him.

Lance only moved the slightest bit, his defiance keeping him ramrod straight. Working for guys like Dallis, you got tough real fast, or you were lucky if you lasted an hour.

"All you got?" he finally sneered, his gaze not leaving Gabriella's face.

Lashing out again she growled.

Don't start with me Lance... You brought all of this down on us including yourself... Oh and guess what.

She back handed him again.

Vince is loose Greg confirmed it.

Another vicious blow came after his defiant remark. Again, he barely flinched. Gabriella was venting, and deep down, he knew he was at least partly to blame for it. Still, he wasn't going to sit there like a whipped little pussy and cry and whimper.

A shiver went though him when he got the news about Vince. "Fuck. Should have known a fucker like him would be able to slip the cops. Shoulda given him another couple shots with the bat, scramble his fucking brains a little."

He knelt there and felt a trickle of blood escape his nose. "Yeah, I know I fucked up." It was the closest thing to an apology she was going to get out of him. He wasn't going to kiss her toes and beg her for forgiveness. If she was the daughter of who he said she was, she'd take it and accept it. He didn't expect it to mollify her, but at least he'd given as much admission of guilt as he was going to.

"But think about it, darlin'. Vince was already here. Yeah, I handed you to him on a silver platter, but do you really think he'd have been satisfied just tormenting you with his stupid little notes and phone calls? No, eventually he'd have grabbed you, when you least expected it and when you were most vulnerable. And if that had happened, no one would have had the slightest fucking clue where you were. "

That may be that he was here... When he contacted you... You should have told me... We both know from our past that cops are only remotely useful after the fact. We could have dealt with this or planned something. Not cause him to bring Callis into this town. I have dealt with him trying to take over Boston.

She hissed and tossed a Kleenex at him for his nose.

Now we have a war on two fronts.

Lance wiped his nose.

"I think Dallis was here all along. Vince might have brought him, but it wasn't an 'either-or' thing. I think that somehow, Vince knew you and I were somehow linked here, and only had Dallis come along to try and keep me out of the way. Vince doesn't give a shit about me, except as a possible barrier to getting to you.

"And neither one of them gives half a shit about Greg."

So now what? At least for now Callis and his lackys are in jail.

She sat down on the couch. Rage towards all of it brewing just under the surface.

Vince has upped his game with the hidden cameras.

Lance stayed on his knees when Gabriella crashed into the couch.

"Yeah, and now he knows we're onto him, but have no idea where he is."

He figured this next suggestion was going to go south on him, but nevertheless, he said, "You do realize, the only way we're going to find him again is to lay his favorite bait out where he can get it."

That's why one of my brothers is in town. Don't think that I am not without my own planning. And yes Greg knows he is here.

She smirked

Lance smirked right back. "Yeah, and you think having one of your brothers here is going to make Vince step out of the shadows with his hands up, screeching, 'Oh shit, you caught me!'?

"You know as well as I do that the only way to get Vince to show his ugly fucking face is to dangle you out in front of it like a goddamn carrot."

No but my brother is the ace Vince won't know about. And the sure shot that won't miss if you do.

She glared.

Sorry trust family over you.

Lance laughed.

"Fuck, I'd be surprised if you trusted me over that gang you call a family even without that fucked-up scene a little while ago.

"And however good this brother of yours might be, who's to say Vince isn't even better at disappearing? Face it, girlie, it may come down to you being the worm on the hook."

That has always been the plan... Just prefer to have my brother here. Plus you haven't asked which one is here.

She grinned a plan already brewing.

"Does it really matter which brother you asked for? Why, is this one part bloodhound or something?"

Lance stayed on his knees. Gabriella hadn't told him to stay there, but even though he'd more-or-less volunteered for this, he didn't really much like taking orders.

Besides, even though they were just conversing at the moment, he wasn't sure whether she was finished with him or not, and he wanted her to get as much of it out of her system as she could...

Well now that you mention it... Braddock is whatever I need him to be.

She stared at Lance her mind set changed as she fell into thought.

Vince has never run across anyone but Alexi so I doubt he know who my brothers are. So now I just have to head home "alone" a few times.

"With a guy like Vince, it's hard to know who he's aware of and who he isn't . Now, he may know about these brothers of yours, but whether he really associates them with you is the big question.

"And now that his little spies have been taken care of, he surely knows we're on to at least that part of his little operation."

Fuck, this goddamn floor was really digging into his knees. Fuck it. He got up off the floor and leaned against the desk.

She gestured as if to say that's fine as she stood and began pacing a little thinking.

Greg headed straight for Lance's after work. Not that he didn't most nights anyway, what with his girlfriend tending bar there, but he needed to know, with Vince on the loose, that he didn't stop by for a visit.

When he walked in and the pkace was empty, he feared the worst. Then, one of the waitresses noticed someone was there and got up from where she sat, saying, "Sit wherever you like." When she saw who it was, she smiled wryly and hooked a thumb at the office door.

"She dragged him in there. Sounded like someone was getting their asses kicked for a little bit, but it's been pretty quiet since.

"Enter at your own risk," she said over her shoulder as she rejoined her friend in the corner.

Greg didn't knock. He was confident nothing of the usual sort of activity that occurred in the office between Lance and the female staff was happening now.

He stepped in to find Gabriella sitting on the couch and Lance on the desk. Lance looked like he'd taken a few shots, but was none the worse for it. Gabriella seemed to be bottling up the frustration she felt at Vince's escape, hiding it behind forced nonchalance. She was good at hiding it, but he knew what to look for.

"The girls outside seem to think there's something kinky going on in here," he told them both.

Not funny Greg. Get in here let's figure out how we are going to deal with this little fiasco.

She growled at his attempt at humor.

As he stepped inside, he stated simply, " No joking. The look the girl who let me in here gave me said she figured the two of you were getting it on somehow. Considering what usually happens in this room, I'm not surprised."

Turning to Lance, he asked, "She didn't hurt you too badly, did she?"

"Fuck you," Lance sneered. "She may think she's all that, but I've had what she dished out and more. I can take it."

"I'm sure she has a few tricks up her sleeve she didn't let you know about, but I'm glad she didn't do to you what she did to Callis. You might not be quite so glib after that."

"Fuck you," Lance repeated, but didn't elaborate.

"So, my sexy assassin," Greg flopped down next to Gabriella, "what kind of plans have the two of you been hashing out?"

Bait and quite frankly our problem of Vince out ranks any asskicking that Lance may have coming to him. As for them they should know better I am not Shee like them to give into any of his attempted seductions.

She wondered how long it would take for the word bait to register.

Greg caught the word "bait" and knew what that meant.

"I've seen what Vince is capable of turning you into. Are you sure you're up to leaving yourself open to that? I mean, when he had you last time, you were helpless."

Yeah THIIS time I will be ready for him because we have a plan.

She glared a little at Lance.

And no offense to either of you I have one of my brothers here

Lance didn't say anything, but just waited to see what came out of the conversation between Gabriella and her cop boyfriend.

"I know. I stopped by and talked with Braddock a little bit. He's still a little on the scary side, if you ask me. He'll be perfect against a bastard like Vince.

"Now, what kind of plan were you two talking about?"

You appear to work late so I have to leave work alone... However I get followed by someone who will appear that they don't want me to see them.following me... That will be Braddock disguised in case. My car has been tracker tagged only you two will know what his rental car will be.

She smiled.

"Okay," Greg said, still wary. "Are you sure you're going to be able to keep it together when you get right up with Vince? 'Cause you know, even if he has someone else grab you, he won't be able to keep himself away. It's both the bad and the good side to this, his being so obsessed with you."
