From here:
A blizzard of potentially historic proportions threatened to strike the Northeast with a vengeance Friday, with up to 2 feet of snow feared along the densely populated Interstate 95 corridor from the New York City area to Boston and beyond. From Pennsylvania to Maine, people rushed to stock up on food, shovels and other supplies, and road crews readied salt and sand, halfway through what had been a merciful winter.

Before the first snowflake had even fallen, Boston, Providence, R.I., Hartford, Conn., and other New England cities canceled school Friday, and airlines scratched more than 1,700 flights, with the disruptions certain to ripple across the U.S. Forecasters said this could one for the record books.

"This one doesn't come along every day. This is going to be a dangerous winter storm," said Alan Dunham, meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Taunton, Mass. "Wherever you need to get to, get there by Friday afternoon and don't plan on leaving."
Will all NYC and New England AHer's please check in! Now to let us know that you're holed up in some safe house with lots of food, hot chocolate and sex toys, and tomorrow to let us know that you're safe and warm? We've got the sled dogs on alert and are ready to head out to the rescue. Or, at the very least, well send out Barney the St. Barnard.

Well, me being from snow country, one saving grace it seems is that this blizzard falls on a Friday. If you all can ready yourselves in the NE, stay tucked in your homes if you can.

Yo! New England AHer's! Check in!

How is it on the East Coast? Are you alive (if not, send messages from the great beyond)? Okay? Still got internet? (OMG! To be without Wi-Fi ....the horror!)

Keep us informed!

Dusting of snow here in Central Virginia. Has it supposedly arrived yet?

We had over a foot here. Sun is out today though.

Early edge of the storm has hit some states:
The early edge of the storm led to a 19-vehicle pile-up in southern Maine, snarling traffic on a major interstate highway north of Portland. No major injuries were reported. A smaller accident briefly closed an interstate near Bolton, Vermont.

"It was close to whiteout conditions, it's sort of a precursor of what's coming later," said Stephen McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine State Police.

...The light snow falling across much of New England on Friday morning was a taste of the weather to come, said Jerry Paul, senior meteorologist with Weather Insight, a unit of Thomson Reuters. "That's going to be gradually building today as time goes on," Paul said.
The real thing is going to start hitting within the next few hours with the worst of it coming tonight--or so I gather.

Hunker down and snuggle in, campers!

So it looks like you've got time to go out and get anything you might need before your home becomes an fortress under siege.

ME go out? hahahaha. My wife went grocery shopping earlier today, so we're good. It looks like, though, once again we luck out by having the Blue Ridge Mountains twenty miles to our west. It keeps most of the bad weather channeled away from us.

I must admit I kept reading through this to see where the erotica started--and didn't find it. Glad the feedback was excellent though.

Why on earth do you see the need to post this here? What does this have to do with erotica?

It's been snowing here since 9am, but its the fluffy stuff and has not accumulated much.

I just did my first round of shoveling and figure about 4 inches.

I have one of those plastic portable storage sheds and put it together on the deck to shelter the grill.

I also decided to brave the real danger and deal with some last minute purchases at the store a couple of hours ago.

People are really getting nuts over this thing. You'd think this was the apocalypse.

If you see four guys on horses out there, let us know ;)

If you follow Revelation there are signs some are riding around as we speak.

Maybe the one that will come my way will be in a snowmobile. I mean, we have to change with the times right?

Well, OK, to keep Trysail from hyperventilating, I'll note that my wife and I fucked like bunnies last night while the snow was falling here. I tried out a new position I wanted to use in an erotica story. It works.

So, we all good now, Trysail? Or would it be better if I stole a graphic of the position and just slapped that on here like you do with irrelevant charts? :D

“The storm should reach its peak intensity early Saturday morning just east of Cape Cod,” the weather service said, forecasting between one and two feet (30 to 60 centimeters) of snow across the region.

Strong winds of 25-35 miles (40-56 kilometers) per hour, with hurricane-strength gusts of up to 75 miles per hour, were expected, creating deep drifts.

Forecasters said New York would see accumulations of more than a foot of snow, while Boston, where schools were ordered closed, was due to be buried under as much as two feet, with far more in the drifts.

Virgina should be comfortable, but RI and Mass might get a heavy blow job.

In post #8 you said just a dusting, but now there was snow falling last night while you took a viagra and labored through a quickie?

And what, oh what, was this new position you just created? Because I am dying to know! Was it you on top, doing some work for once?

You're such an asshat, now go back to staring at that mural of the mountains they painted on the wall in the rec room at the home you live in.

Yeah, what I shoveled was only 4 inches, but the shit got wet and heavy in the last hour. Couple of feet of this shit is going to be back breaking.

My old mans snow blower went three nights ago, when he was firing it up, so I gave him mine and of course you can't find one to buy so I'll be doing it the old fashioned way.

But at least its the weekend and I can take my time.

One thermos of coffee and blackberry brandy coming up.

Another obsession day for you LC? This may come as a surprise for you, but in order for snow to become a dusting even, it has to fall. And it has to fall for some time before it can become even a dusting in Virginia. :D

Got kicked by the wife again this morning? That what put you in this mood? Oh, and did you quit your job back in November as you said you would to live off your wife and become the next great incest novelist? :D

Not really. I'm guessing you don't know what all is involved with global warming.

Oh, come now! First it's global cooling, then warming, now it's "climate change", including possible effects of the warming up from the Little Ice Age, solar storms, and the shift of the poles.

And you want to hold to the same tired orthodoxy? Is the Earth changing in climate? Sure, but what percentage is man and what is other things? And is the long-term effect cooler or warmer temperatures? The more we know, the less we can trust the conventional wisdom.

Face it, you've yet to break with the liberal/progressive pack on a single issue, and that is frankly a bit disconcerting. When they say 2 plus 2 equals five, you believe them.

And you accuse me of ignorance? To quote my hero John Stossel, "Give me a break!" :D

Hey, lovecraft68, don't feed the Consonants guy. He bites. Just ignore him.

To self: now, take your own damn advice.

I'm okay east of the river. In fact, I think they are going to lower their prediction in my part of the river valley from twenty to twelve inches. But, the wind is really blowing out there. I know what lands on the roof will be on my front sidewalk in the morning. I was going to go out and shovel in the middle of the storm, but the wind is too strong and it's freakin cold when it snows. I put gas in the snowblower already, so I'll be ready to get out there in the morning and see what kind of gift the snowplow leaves me at the end of the driveway. If the power stays on, I'll be fine.

Just finished my second round of shoveling. Took the yardstick out there with me. So far 9" at about 8:30 and its coming down a lot harder I also saw a few flashes of lightning when I was out there.

40k out of power already and the highest winds and heaviest snows supposedly have not shown up yet.

This shit is heavy going to bring down wires everywhere
