here in Miami, I trired something new! And I must admit that it wasn't as scary as I thought it would be! It was actually rather interesting!

Have a look at the pic, and you'll know what I mean ;)

i agree .. that is VERY Cool ShyGuy!!

Looks like a ball python to me in your photo ... our older daughters each have one ... both baby snakes received as Christmas gifts last Dec' ... They are almost that size now.

i held a snake for the first time back in '98 .. i was at one of those traveling carnivals .. paid $10.00 for the snake owner to drape his 6' burmese python around my shoulders and snap a poleroid pic.
The pic shows me standing there, forced smile... clenched teeth, clenched fists with white knuckles... in a very stiff and obviously nervous pose.

Then ..... about a year and a half ago, shortly after first meeting my Master ... i got up the nerve to hold one of His albino burmese pythons. i sat on the sofa as it creeped over my shoulders and played a game of peek-a-boo as it slithered in and out of the layers of my long hair.

IT WAS AWESOME.

It felt so relaxing to me. Just like a shoulder massage ...
Best of all, i got over my fear of snakes & learned to appreciate just how beautiful they really are ... and that they make wonderful pets.

Glad to hear about your new experience ShyGuy!!! Good for you ....... :) Enjoy your vacation.

P.S. i have also since overcome my fear of big spiders ... taurantulas. Oddly enough, i'm still freakish in finding any tiny spiders in our home .. go figure! heh

ShyGuy that is way cool, perhaps you'll decide you need one of your own. They are fun pets.

I love snakes myself, I have a 4' ball python that I raised from a baby. I remember being a child and catching little green garter snakes and baby chicken snakes (I don't know if that is their real names). Once when I was 9 or 10, I brought home a little diamond back rattle snake and got the hell beat out of me by my mother. Needless to say, I never tried to catch one of those again.

Glad you had the chance to experience it.

I have a picture of a snake around my neck at the Reptile Center in Alice Springs Australia. I will have to find it and post it. I love snakes they are fantastic animals.

Hi Shyguy
Looks like your having a great vacation :)

Look forward to seeing more pics of your time away

Yes it was interesting indeed to hold a snake. I've never been to fond of them I have to admit, but now I don't find them to creepy anymore at all. But I have to admit that I doubt that I'll ever get a snake as a pet.

Here's another picture from the same park, which was fun having taken as well!

Looks kinda like Daffy Duck.

I wanna go to a park that lets you hold snakes and things like that.

Well worth a visit if you ever venture there, and Bojangles saloon in Alice also has a resident python. They keep her in a bar called the "snake pit", away from the roudy main area. The owner sometimes brings her out on quieter nights and I had many a cuddle, when I lived there.

I met a woman, now in her 60's, who used to have a pet python for her strip show for over 10 years. She was never short of work, she quipped, although she admitted after a while she realised the snake was the reason for her success. She loved it dearly, keeping it after she quit doing shows, despite many offers from other girls to buy him from her.
Now she had some stories to tell- amazing lady.

I also knew an older lady, well into her 70's who had been a fan dancer in the 30's. But thats off topic ........

wow coolbeans!
I used to find snakes at the summer camp I worked at in my teens, they were tiny and cute... and always released. I've held other friend's snakes before, and I agree, it is quite relaxing.

I also want to say that you have nicely manicured hands :)

Why thank you very much  Truth is that I don't do much to keep them, than to cut the nails whey it's needed.

Ok here's another picture from my vacation! I actually think it's a pretty nice picture if I say so myself! ;) It's from yesterday when we went to the Dolphins - Falcons game, and yes my team won!

Today we went shopping and once we came back, we went for a swim in the ocean off the beach, now that was nice!!

well - what can I say?

you come up with nice new things to do all the time, Mister ;-)

Nice pics indeed, and I am sure even if you didn't intend to take home any of the reptile pets you might make an exemption for the two "Bunnies" in the last pic!

Good to see you have fun

Yes it was a python, but I can't recall what kind. But I have to admit that I won't be getting one as a pet anytime soon though! ;)

You just have to go to Florida, and then to the Everglades, there are plenty of places there where they let you do it ;)

Wonderful! Might make going to a game worthwhile to see that!

I also always liked looking at those tushies on the players.

I LOVE your picture! Thanks for sharing it!
