I just bought a DVD player (cheapie one but I don't care). My TV isn't DVD compatible, so I bought an RF adapter for it. I tried to hook it up: my cable wire into the adapter, the adapter into the cable box, the cable box into the TV, and the three wires (red white and yellow on each end) from the adapter to the DVD player.

Didn't work.

I tried cutting out my cable box: cable wire into the adapter, adapter into TV, three wires from adapter to the DVD player- still nothing. I tried changing the channels, still nothing.

Help, please? Someone? Pretty please? I was so looking forward to watching LOTR tonight.

Hmmmm I'm sure were I there I may be able to help. From here it may be difficult.

The 3 wires from the DVD are plugged into the corresponding colors on the adapter. Then a cable runs directly from the adapter to the TV. You put a DVD in and get nothing on the TV? Does the adapter have any switches or buttons that may indicate whether it is sending either CATV (cable) or DVD or AUX? Does the back of the DVD and or the Adapter have channel settings? Probably a small black switch hidden somewhere on the back panel.

Is the TV sophisticated enough to look for either a CATV input or a line input (the line input would be the smaller RCA type connectors like those on the DVD cords). Do you switch channels normally through your TV or your cable box? If your cable box, what channel does your TV normally work from, try 3 or 4.

Dunno if this will help or not, but it's what I got off the top of my head! Good Luck!

I can recommend good DVD films to you. Although, you sound really stupid, I doubt you can get them to work:)

No, it's spelled s-e-x-y.

Try hooking it up through your VCR. The "line in" area with the three inputs - white, yellow, and red. The channel for line in is usually one lower than "2", or there may be a specific button for line in on the remote.

Oh, and the head is shaved now. And really tan, too. ;)

Be sure you have your S-video outlet connted from the t.v. to the dvd player.

O and another thing. If none of the above tricks work you can always try sticking those three leads up yer ass. You never know?

Good Luck.:)

What's an s-video outlet? I only have the wire that has the red white and yellow connectors on them. Do I need some other wire?

The TV just keeps playing whatever channel I had it on when I put the DVD player on.

The back of the TV only has a thing for the cable wire to go in. I use the cable box to change channels and my TV stays on channel 3. I tried switching the channels on both the TV and the cable box, to no avail.

My VCR is broken. I called a friend, and I had the yellow wire in the wrong hole. It's working!!! WOOHOOO!!!

Wrong Prong in wrong hole?
Sounds painfull.

It was very painful. Usually I don't mind if it's in the wrong hole, but things just weren't working out for me.
