Ok weird topic i know i am sorry. but me and my mom got onto this subject somehow today and i was just wondering if what she says is true. she said that when you get a yeast infection put plain yougert inside your hole and it will take it away.
well has anyone else heard of this and if so how long does it take and how would you get it in there and how many times would you have to keep putting it in there.
thanks

Eating the yogurt will work just fine, or you can take Acidophilus tablets and they will help.

Yogurt does help b/c it promotes the "good" yeast-fighting bacteria in your body. If i feel a little itchy down there, i will eat some yogurt and it seems to help. However, i've never used it as my sole method for curing a full blown infection.

Put the yogurt in your mouth, and put an anti-fungal Vaginal yeast infection cream in your vagina.

I eat yogurt almost daily and still get yeast infections, so I don't know how good of a preventer it is. But it is good, good for you, and surely can't hurt.

I have heard of the old wives tail about putting yogurt in the vagina, but I don't know how effective it would be.

eating and using yogurt as a cream works wonders. My girlfriend had constant yeast infections and the dr told her to use a turkey baster to shoot it up inside. It was cleared in three days! I guess its the good bacteria that eats up the bad stuff.

I used to get yeast infections all the time, and after doing some research, I found that if you take a "lactobacillus" pill (the good bacteria that is found in yougurt) once a day, it is supposed to help. You can also insert the pill directly into the vagina, though I've never done that. I just take them orally. After having yeast infections on a regular basis for years, I haven't had one in over 5 months!!! I also take cranberry concentrate pills to ward off bladder infections. It's like $30 for a 3 month supply of both pills, but it is so worth it. Just going to the doctor once is way more than that. Any natural foods store will have these items, or a GNC. Good Luck :rose:

Cheapest but VERY EFFECTIVE way:

Change your diet (at least temporarily until it's gone):

No sweets, including drinks--nothing with sugar.
No dairy products.
No foods containing yeast, like breads.

Drink TONS of pure water. As much as you can take.

Within 3 days, the infection should be gone, depending on the severity of it.

As long as I limit my breads, and sweets intake (I don't eat dairy), I never have yeast infections/irritations.
