Yeah, Hooray!

Hi Ya Harold -

Just a quick note to say thanks a million for posting. I was starting to think that I had messed something up during the move because no one had posted since I opened the board back up! Ok, now I can go to sleep.

Take care!

Wait a minute - I just noticed that my title is "Madam" on the board - thanks Laurel! haha

HAHA, I notcied that too!!! I was looking and saw "Manu" and was like, oh cool, he actually made a post! And curious as to what the word would be to go with "madam" I checked the side of the screen and there it was... you were a madam too!
LMAO
That is too cool!

Is this another revelation?

No, sorry. Bad joke... very bad joke.
Thank you so much for all the hard work you two do. I think he deserves his own title though.
Any suggestions? No Laurel, you better not reply.

I'm not sure why, but I'm having problems getting the cookie to register when I first og in, and the new posts aren't highlighted. It works OK once I refresh the menu except I have to enter my name and password each time I come on.

Not a big problem, just different from the old server.

I'm not sure that Manu would want the corresponding title to Madame. That would be Pimp, no?

On a practical level, I'm not sure that the software will allow gender specific titles for the adminstrative access level.

Look back over this thread.Notice anything odd? Try comparing a series of of posts by the same person. Ah, you say -- the "Posts:" entries in the author information block are not being updated.

Take heart, though, because the responsiveness is MUCH, MUCH improved, and far exceeds my hopes for this much-anticipated upgrade. Thanks a million.

The number of posts will always read the same for all posts by the same author. It updates old posts with the new number each time the page is displayed. If there was a different number for each post, then THAT would be a problem.

For example. My post total is 296, not counting this one. It's entirely possible that it will be over 300 by the time you read this.

Hmm, it seems the individual preferences were reset. No big deal, though. The BB's much faster, and no 500 errors. Yay!

Can anybody tell me if the BB has any different colors? My monitor is effed up, and everything looks sickly green and putrid magenta!! Hopefully, I'll get a new monitor this weekend.

Mine won't change when I go back and change them either.

Nope, all the colors are the same.

Hello again everyone -

Thanks for all the good info. I was so busy laughing at my "Madam" title that I didn't even notice that the number of posts wasn't changing. I have contacted the makers of the BB software and I'm trying to figure this problem out.

Also - the cookies problem does not seem to be happening to everyone - it seems random. I am also working on that problem. If you go to the "preferences" link, you might want to try to delete the cookie and then set your preferences. I'm not actually sure if that will fix the problem, but it has been suggested in the support FAQ for the BB software.

Just so you know, you don't have to choose between *no 500 errors* or *cookies and number of posts working* - you can and will have both! I just have to work a little more on the board to get it all straightened out. I am not a code hacking genius like Art, so these things sometimes take me a little longer than I would like, but I will get it all fixed up.

Thanks again for the feedback and please keep posting about any problems you find.

Take care, all!

Weird Harold - thank you. I think that you're right about the number of posts per user. I just checked the memberlist and it appears to be counting how many posts a user has made each time that user makes a new post. The updated number is then shown with every post that the user makes, even the old posts.

If anyone reading this notices anything strange with their number of posts not updating, please let me know.

Thanks again, Harold - you may have just saved me from getting gray hair before I need to.

I'm leaning towards "Master Manu" or Manu the Magnificent". (suck up...suck up...suck up...) :D

Manu I gave Laurel one earlier and Now I'm giving you one Huggggggggggggggg.

Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you, Thank-you.

Have I said Thank-you yet??? Laurel and Manu we all love you two so much. Am I gushing? Oh so sorry :D

Nice catch, Harold. I guess I am so accustomed to refreshing the screen from the 500 era that I just expected to see the numbers changing.

This really is much better now. Thanks again!

Felix

I think it is happening to everyone, but those who don't set their preferences to prune less than twenty days just don't notice it.

I sent an E-Mail to Laurel@Literotica.org with some additonal info for you earlier this morning.
