I don't think I'm appropriately dressed for the poetry section but I saw this and just had to come in and say congratulations, Chippy.

Congrats - *thinks - Oh no! Now the trolls'll run riot.* - don't be a stranger just because you're meaningfully employed. :rose: X 12

well thankyou, everyone!

and i have left poisoned cookies out for those pesky trolls... they can't resist a nibble ;)

Congrats Chip!!! I am so happy for you.

Sorry I haven't been around much. I have been having a bad spell with migraines and this does not combine well with prolonged computer use.

So do I. I am fucking up at uni because of them and there is only so much antinausea medication I can get my hands on...I miss cheese too.

Congratulations! Home you do well and enjoy your new job!
Hard for me to remember how that feels - past 30 year milestone last year, soon 31.

thankyou, EO :rose:

well since leaving work to have my first child, and encompassing 2 marriages and more children, being a housewife both times, and voluntary work the past 2 years, this is my first PAID job in 29 years!:eek: that makes me feel pretty ancient but smiling like a cheshire cat at the same time. :D

Many congratulations My thoughts will be with you on your first day but I'm sure you'll settle in quickly. I was in London yesterday at the Country Living Mag spring fair at the Business Design Centre in Islington and wondered if I was anywhere near you! I'm chilling out today and thinking of all the money I didn't spend but wish I could have!

islington's where i used to work, donkey's years ago. well between the Angel Islington and the Barbican. i live about 9 or 10 miles out from there. and yeah, those places are great for window shopping!

can I be your underachieving assistant, and desk candy? I can do either equally well.
oooh, yes please. so long as you refrain from snarking toooooo directly at the customers. :D desk candy... does that mean i get to lic... oh, wait. did i think that out loud? *bad butty*

Your welcome :)

My wife's been housewife for almost that long.
Our son will be 25 this July and she worked about 1/2 after he was born as that job was winding down. Her mother came to take care of our son during the day.
(I get along great with my mother-in-law - she only speaks German and I only speak English).
She worked part time part of one tax season, a bit of volunteer work at church another time. Internet and housework during the day for her these days.
