I used to give blood all the time until the Red cross started harassing me. I asked them to leave me alone but they keep calling 3 times a week. So, fuck them.

I've wanted to give blood for years, but a stupid decision as a teenager means I can't. My son needed 3 blood transfusions in the first 3 months of his life so I am always grateful to those that do. Yay for you.

Me, too. I had a transfusion in 1982 and a diagnosis of a blood cancer which prevents me from donating. How did they give the transfusions to your son? When my son was being treated for meningitis at 14 months they took blood from his heel with a straw. I thought I was going to come unglued.
