Well the wife and I finally got ourselves out of debt a couple of weeks ago. Now it's back into it we go. This time it's for a good cause. We replaced our dinosaur of a van, (1988 Dodge Caravan) with a 2003 Chevy Tracker. This is the newest vehicle I have ever owned. :cathappy:

Now we finally have a vehicle we can rely on. The feeling of having a vehicle we know will start when we want it to, not to mention drive to where we want to go without worrying about breaking down is great. It almost offsets the feeling of owing someone else money. Oh well, at least this will help us rebuild our credit.

Good luck on your venture. It's hard to commit to a loan but the mental security of knowing your vehicle will bring you lots of peace.

Congrats Cat!

Woohoo! Drive, Cat! Drive! Drive! :D

Congrats and enjoy the freedom!

Thanks for the support all. I know to some it sounds like nothing much but when you make as little as my wife and I do, (Some of you would be amazed at what C.N.A.'s are paid.) not to mention just got out of debt it's a big deal.

There is no denying it was time to replace the van. It was getting old. The engine had over 200K miles on it. (I wont say how much I got for it, but it was more than twice what I paid for it 7 years ago. :D )

Doormouse. Thanks for the compliment. She's the smaller of our two cats.

Cats rule.

Glad to hear about your financial upturn. I understand massive debt all to well, and am looking forward to getting my first new car ever in the next couple of years as well.

It's truly a strange feeling you get when you sign those papers. Kind of a sick elation.

You feel great that you're moving ahead, rebuilding your credit and getting a good vehicle out of it. At the same time you get that sick/quesy feeling in the pit of your stomach that says damn it here we go, back into debt again.

I've felt like that on a lot of things, student loans (when I first got them, car, buying a house.

I am rather jealous you were completely out of debt for a little while!

Not to appear stupid, but what is a C.N.A. ?

Certified Nursing Assistant :)

Yep, and yes we're certifiable to do the job we do for what we get paid. We do have the enjoyment of helping to take care of people, and helping them get better. In many parts of hospitals and Nursing Homes we do a lot of the hands on. We clean the patients, we help them feed themselves, and we directly help the nurses. How much we do depends on the facility, our level of training, the needs of the patients and R..'s (Registered Nurses,) and how the nurses feel about C.N.A.'s.

In my case two of the nurses on my unit, as well as the director of the unit push me in what they have me doing and learning. The others for reasons of their own have this great mistrust of males in my position. Because of this I am treated as nothing more than a lifting machine/runner/whipping post by them. (Hey I wasn't the one who screwed around on them, or divorced them, or told them they were fat that morning.)
