Yahoo has reset all Account pages. This means no matter what you checked when signing up the "Do you want to recieve special offers?" have ALL been
reset to YES.

This includes by email,U.S.Mail, and telephone.

To prevent a BIG STORM, go to "My Yahoo Account" page, click on "set
marketing preferences" and reset what you want. Don't forget the bottom
which refers to snail mail and phone. Then click"save
changes".

*I received this in my e mail and thought I would pass it on. I checked my account information and found that my settings had indeed been changed.*

spam is nice in salads

Kids will love it if you make it with macaroni and cheese. ;)

I got this in my email too. Dont cha just love change?

I checked my Yahoo account and all the settings had been changed -- how on earth can they get away with that? I mean, I wasn't very worried about the telephone and mail options because I gave them false information in those categories, but the huge list of things it was giving them permission to mail me was alarming.

Thanks for the warning. Now all we need is to find the right place to report it and complain ...

Yahoo Storm Spam Alert

Storm doesn't like Yahoo or Spam. Not even the turkey stuff.

Actually, I think they just changed over to a new system for the media alert options.

But it does suck that they didn't send out an email to all their users.

Thank you: though it might have been an accident. Nice of them to tell us!

thanks!

thanks for the info.......i will now pass it on to friends!

The best way to deal with it is to change your phone number and home address to their offices address, so that way THEY get the spam. I think there's a way you can change the spamed email to another addy like marketing@yahoo.com or abuse@yahoo.com

BTw, why worry about a fake address you make up? I'm sure the residesnts of 666 Fake Street in Hell, Alaska (Which is located, oddly enough in the Ukraine) could use the spam to burn.

Thank you!

Thank God i'm so paranoid.

i got suspicious when they asked for my Zip code, (which they HAD on file) and by the time they casually mentioned that they had changed their "Privacy Policy" i started pushing the buttons.

Sure enough, as you pointed out, i was signed up for EVERYTHING! Not anymore.

i'm REALLY bugged about the fact that they are changing the structure of all of the Yahoo clubs. i searched like crazy for days to finally get in touch with my local.........uhh, well..."perverts" <jk> and now until the "restructuring" is over i'm cut off again.<hmmmph>

Really nice of you to warn people that they may be buried in a Spam Storm if they don't read a little fine print.
