Messenger is generic? However do you figure that? It behaves just like AIM and to an extent, Yahoo. Bill probably stole the code from them, but hey, he's steals everything.

She'd probably hurt ya if ya'll tried to turn her into an IM program. Specially if ya'll confused IM with chat. I have a feelin that thousands of chatters isn't her idea of a fun gangbang. Her is in the generic sense of the word.

I know. I chat IRC when I chat, Java bites. That's why I like MSN, it's very intimate without dozens of idiots who cruise my profile and like what they see decide to starting talking to me. I don't like AIM for the simple reason that someone else already stole my name.

If it's a server based chat, it's all pretty much java sweets. The chat client is either based out of their server or on your puter. I like stuff where the client is on my hard drive, not the server. Yahoo doesn't have an IRC server because it's too malicious, wannabe hackers can use it to do stuff to other people's computers and occasionally the server itself. Yahoo is all java, or close 'nuff to it that it may as well be.

Nah. I have the new messenger. Just hit a button and I'm in chats. A step up from the cheap java going through the website, but it may as well be the cheap java. It uses messenger as a chat client, but it appears to be server based, rather than puter based. I can't see the server's id, I can't change servers and use the same client. I can't be in more than one channel at a time. I don't have an mp3 player. I can't see IPs. I can't DCC a file without backing out to messenger. I can't use bots or eggs. I can't even tell who owns or who just ops a channel. I like IRC better, you can do far more with it and there are far more chatters and channels available. Now that I understand what you're talking about, I would have to say that Yahoo is as generic as you say MSN is. You can't script it.
Yahoo is just like MSN, java. The reason yahoo looks better is because MSN used to be IRC and yahoo never was so yahoo has had more practice. MSN had too many problems with malicious hackers getting into other people's puters so they started up their little java chat and shut down their IRC servers. They may have a couple running, haven't been there in a while. If yahoo has IRC servers, I haven't heard of them. Not that I'm the be all end all repository of IRC knowledge.
I have several chat clients, old ones so don't laugh guys. Hackfactor4, mIRC with my own ridiculous scripting, the one by Silkk, can't remember what it's called, never use it, and FateX 2.0 cause I can use mIRC's color sifter and keep out all colors. These critters are actual programs in my program files, not some unseen thing loaded through my IM client using my java.

Well I used to have AIM and Yahoo. Together with ICQ and MSN.
Now I only use ICQ and MSN, ICQ which I btw think is one of the best. Sorry for y'all who thinks it sucks. I dont.
I have MSN because, like April, I can check my email at the same time.
I thought that AIM was pretty cool. But it did annoy me at times. Yahoo, well I really dont have a preference towards that. I rarely used it and when I did, it kept fucking up my computer.
Now I only use ICQ and MSN, ICQ which I btw think is one of the best. Sorry for y'all who thinks it sucks. I dont.
