Not quite an answer...

BlessedBe,

I've used YM quite a bit, but I've never enabled message archiving. If you use IM clients much, you probably have some friends that use AIM, some that use YM, some that use ICQ, and some that use MSN. If so, I recommend taking a look at Trillian. They have a freeware client that is very functional. I actually paid the $25 to get Trillian Pro. It's been flawless for me.

What it does is logs you into each messaging service that you want to configure (AIM, YM, ICQ, and MSN). Then, you have a single client with a single interface for chatting. It has many downloadable skins to alter its appearance. Also, you can turn on message history in such a way that it's VERY easy to view any message ever received from someone. In fact, when a person sends you a message, it automatically puts X amount of lines of history in the window, where you configure how big X is.

I will quit trying to sell it now. I'm not affiliated with the tool, but I've found it very useful and less fragile to firewall hiccups than some of the other clients, especially YM. Here's the link:

My $0.02.
Sorry I didn't have an answer to your actual question.

Thanks Deliciea. Thanks to you, I learned how to access archives when online... But, when I dig in Yahoo's folders I see there are two saved messages. (I've done some snooping and my man's name has archives turned off. And so do I.) So, I'm not sure where these two messages came from. And, I cannot open them.
