Ya Know You're Old When....

And our parents said that about our music.

The cycles never end.

Nah, mine just said it was not very good. But you must remember that I was raised in a music teacher's family and the thought of adding the Beatles to Bach, Beethoven and Brahms was a serious disconnect.

Besides, I preferred Simon and Garfunkel, anyway.

Although I am an old curmudgeon, :mad:I don't like to sound lke one. Nevertheless, I have a hard time thing of Rapping as being a form of singing. I will concede that the background is music. Monotonous, but music. However, I will never think of the vocal part as being anything but chanting or shouting, frequently of obscenities.

I have nothing against obscenities, but I don't like them to be so overdone as to lose their meanings.

Incidentally, I grew up with what was called Rockabilly, Rock & Roll and later shortened to Rock. My parents were big fans of Elvis, and I remember his famous (partial) appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. :D

When Patsy Cline did Crazy because nobody thought much of the songwriter as a performer?

Willie Nelson

I was lucky enough to see Hank Williams seniors last appearance and Elvis's first and only appearance on the Louisiana Hayride.

God, who remembers KWKH radio?
