Thus we have a female (who is also essential to the plot), a 'villain' (if you can call toad that), and a newbie!

Avalanche is a douchbag, come one the guy practically tried to crush hundreds of people to get attention, I cannot see what she likes with that guy, he reminds me of a bully in elementary shool who threw a rock during a snowball fight at me to impress a girl, got a nasty cut on the head from that, bloody jackass. *growls*

I am in the mood to try something different. I haven't done a proper sci-fi thread in a while, so here goes I'd like to go for ...

Rogue (Anna Marie)

Appearance: Rogue is characterised by two white streaks in her hair.

Powers: Involuntarily absorbs the memories, physical strength and the abilities of anyone she touches.

Hailing from Caldecott, Mississippi, Rogue is the X-Men's self-described Southern Belle. A runaway, she was adopted by Mystique of the Brotherhood of Mutants and grew up as a villain. Rogue turned to the X-Men for help, fearing for her sanity. She very much considers her powers a curse and had to work extra hard to earn the respect and trust of the X-Men.

As a young girl, Rogue grew close to a boy named Cody Robbins. During their flirtation, she impulsively kissed Cody, at which point her latent mutant power to absorb the life energy and psyche of others with skin-to-skin contact emerged. The interlude left him in a permanent state of coma and Rogue traumatised. From that day onwards, she wore body-concealing clothing to protect them from her.

The more Rogue uses her mutant power, the more her mind fills with fragmentary psychic echoes of the people she absorbs to the point where it becomes harder and harder for her to hold on to her own personality.

eeee. erhm...two things of note. First, Rogue's mutation is actually in a "nascent" stage....in other words, the only reason she can't control it is that it's not fully developed. Second, from what I understand, she was born in Louisiana but raised in Mississippi. Not that either of those little tidbits are relevant. Are you playing her post-Miss Marvel then?
