Is that considered family entertainment now? Let me show this movie to my daughter so she can see how to find her Prince Charming. Become a hooker with a heart of gold.

*facepalm*

I don't care if you respond, I am just appalled.

I'd argue from a different angle.

If I had children I'd never submit them to the acting of Richard Gere and what's her face.

I've noticed they run a lot of movies that I wouldn't consider "family" but it's Disney and Pretty Woman I think was made by a Disney company. I think. I'd look it up if I wasn't lazy.

I don't like most Disney princess movies either so that would actually explain a lot.

ABC Family has some pretty edgy tv series as well....The Lying Game for one....which, Im sad to say, Im addicted to the show.

I never understood why Julia Roberts had the title role in Pretty Woman. I guess nobody would go see a movie titled "Fugly Woman."

It's one of my favorite movies, and I think Julia is beautiful in it.

Having said that, the last time I watched it, it was airing on the same channel. I also said, "WTF?"

I like Julia Roberts in the movie as well and I don't hate it either, just where it's being broadcasted.

And yes, my kids are asleep so no big deal but they run the commercials for it during the day and they show the cute stuff and of course curious minds...

Ugh.

I love the movie.

I like Julia.

I think....that Julia could be the poster child for capitalizing on a "unique" and not classically beautiful look. She has got one hell of an enormous mouth.

Agreed. I think that's why she's so appealing. She's not at all cookie-cutter; she's got the big, toothy smile and the crazy-curly hair. IMO, she's one of those "perfect in her imperfections," actresses.

Maybe it's a version done by that Utah company that sanitizes films to make them safe for Mormons.

It's a Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast and Prince Charming story. She could have been a whore, but she held out for the good stuff and in the end, got what she wanted.
