why is it that these dipshit democrats can't address the real issues and that is the costs associated with education?

why is it that all these obama crybabies want everything handed to them for free?

what happened to American pride?

why are so many American's looking for free hand outs?

does anyone work or have pride in America?

we are now the the land of the obama's whinners and free handouts

When you figure that out, find out why this administration sent BIG BUCKS to Kenya and the Palestines when our own economy is failing.

An education is a lot different than a welfare check. How do you think someone is supposed to earn their own way if they do not have a trade, a skill, are educated in a specialized field or can think critically? The answer is they can't and they get on the dole.

If you are anti-Welfare state then it is completely inconsistent to be anti-education.

At what point does unlimited government-subsidized education become welfare?

What happens when a degree gives you no comparative advantage but yet still instills the patina and aura of "I am too good for that kind of job...?"

how many people start college? how many don't finish? if we gave college away for free, the obama supporters would lose respect for college and drop out at a higher rate. after all, they don't have to pay for it!

2ndly, why not address bloated costs of our education system?

oh I know democrats don't like to fix things, they don't mind paying $100 for a $10 hammer

Yes! You should keep them illiterate and barefoot so they will take your WalMart jobs with glee!

Only educate the rich, the white, and the privileged. Keep the dirty masses out of the club!

holly crap, who ever said only educate white people? wtf?

everyone needs an education. education system is corrupt and need to be revamped. people MUST pay for education.

when "it" is free, people piss all over it ( just look at a project and look at what a dumb it is)

Take away all support for education and only the rich will be able to afford it. Great for them! Bad for society. Education provides the opportunity for the getto kid to become a brain surgeon. Does it cost money? Yes. Are you going to bitch about that if your brain needs a tune up?

Education benefits society. Limiting education to only the rich people will enslave the majority of the society. Fuck that!

Level the field. Educate your people.

I paid for an undergrad degree by working (Restaurant, gas station). The entire degree was less than 5 grand. Because I was paying for it with my own, hard-earned money I worked harder to get good grades, so that I could get academic scholarships (And save MYSELF money)

I have since finished another degree with no debt under similar circumstances. It can be done without government aid; I've never filled out a FAFSA in my life.

WASHINGTON, DC – Senator Dan Coats (R-Ind.) today co-sponsored legislation introduced by Senators Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.), Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and Michael Enzi (R-Wyo.) that would freeze the interest rate on Stafford college tuition loans at 3.4 percent for loans made between July 1, 2012 and June 30, 2013. The Student Loan Interest Rate Reduction Act of 2012 would be paid for with money from the president’s health care law.

I am also paying for my degree. No loans. My financial house was in order before I started. I took all the classes that would transfer at a community college to keep the cost down. Five grand would not get very far at my university. That is just tuition. Add in the books and cost of going to school. Working your way through is not easy.

Should it be free? Debatable.

Should a degree cost more than a house? That keeps the poor people out! Send the price through the roof! Educate the rich white people and keep the masses at Wal Mart!

I did community college first as well.

You would think the dems would introduce a bill to keep costs down, but then they couldn't use it as a campaign issue.

Never. College could be 100% free in this country and it still wouldn't become welfare. Likewise, free public grade school high school aren't welfare either.

I really think you should learn what welfare is.

The public school system is a train wreck, please don't do that to my college experience.

Education is how no-talents get jobs.

In the 1700s talented people taught novices skills; at the same time colleges cranked-out graduates most of whom never got near the work they were ordained to do, it was what we call BOOK LEARNING.

By 1900 serious students had to perform whatever it was their professions demanded before they got diplomas. Plenty of medical students kidnapped black people off the streets, for anatomical practice. Grave robbers were expensive, blacks were fresh, plentiful, and rarely missed.

Now we just practice on racist old folks who have heart problems... :). True story.
