I have gotten so tangled up in the subtitles of my character's relationships and the who-done-it, that, while it's pretty satisfying, I had forgotten to have any fun. So I am skipping ahead to write the first sex scene between a newbie to the leatherscene- who happens to be female-- and two queer leathermen.

3. how do you portray shyness?

any answer to the above questions would be extremely helpful!!!

He might tuck himself into corners in group situations. She might say things in a very belligerent way and then be mortified at her clumsiness. She might hear people reassure her that it's okay but not believe them. He might constantly worry about how he looks, and how much better other people look--more graceful, more confident better dressed. She might focus on the back of her hand rather than the person who's talking to her, or the table top, or a speck of lint on her sleeve. he might imagine smiling and saying something perfect in his head-- but not be able to get the words out in reality...
