Writing tips from Hemingway

The computer is the pencil equivalent of the typewriter pen.

Writers block is always the problem of having nothing to say.

I could write a story about the day the ambulance came to the house and carried my grandfather away to die. I recall every detail of it, and I was 7 years old.

I could write a story about the night my mother tried to murder me and my sister. I was 3 or 4.

Ever watch a pet die when youre a child? I did, and recall the futility and sense of impotence I felt.

God! There are always a bazillion experiences to write about. So I assume that when someone cant write they got nuthin to say.

You keep saying that but it doesn't make it true. You might have tons to say but if none of it relates to the story at hand, you have a block and need to wait for it to come to you. You've even done it yourself from what I've read on one of your posts. So give the garbage a rest.

Silly Billy! Don't be trying to fake it when you got no story to tell. And faking it is what you fools be about.
