writing stories?

i will admit, i am definately no author. But i have a question for you ladies and gents that are.
For starters, for me, reading an erotica story or 2 to my lover is better than watching porn. I love porn but i love reading stories to him more, or having him read them to me.
Well i've noticed that he is good at making up his own little stories, but he doesnt want to write them down for me. How do i convince him that he really is good? He's got low self esteem and consistantly thinks he fucks up on something - but i think this would really help him feel better about himself. Like he accomplished something ya know - at least thats how i feel when i finish a peice of artwork.
Any tips?

Tell him good writing is less about style and more about substance. With good material, almost anyone can write entertaining stuff and it seems like your significant other has great ideas. Of course, good writing helps, but without the ideas, nothing else matters.

So maybe tell him that even if he's afraid he'll "ruin" the story when he writes them down, that's not a big deal. There's no deadline and he can take his time to perfect his work. Also, you can offer to help him proofread it and revise it. Even the best writers I know rely on others to help them write.

Honestly

It's tough to write things down. In your head you can play and replay things over and over and have fun with it. When you write things down, they become 'serious' somehow and it's more difficult to complete a story.

I've written many stories in my head. I can imagine them perfectly. When it comes to putting words on a page it's much more difficult then you can imagine.

Have him write just a small part, like the beginning. Or ask him to write just two sentences with sex, describing a blowjob. The little things will build up to big stuff.

I'd suggest maybe purchasing a tape recorder if you don't own one and record his stories that he tells, maybe listening back to what he says might get him motivated, if not, at least its still on record.

cryforme1v, I had a girl friend who was an avid reader and when we were out of town wanted me to take her into an ADULT store. You know the kind where men in trench coats hastily make their way in and out during the evening hours ? They advertise video booths, adult DVD's, and magazines etc ?

events in speech class. So I began to learn to read the male parts as she read the voices of the females. That was when the idea of the tape recorder came to us and we began using the stero cassette recorder at home just for fun.

Since then I've learned to put my mind to making up erotic stories, going on the web and finding people like Katy Terrega , famous for her Porn writers book "It's a Dirty Job", and learning about the craft, and finding sites like Literotica. For us guys, we're horny as rats dripping with testosterone when young and that's so way before the girls get their hormones on. By thetime the girls arrive, well we've about given up. But for the guy who learns to make up dirty stories in this time, he'll keep his sexual edge and find a new
kind of woman eagerly awaiting is stories and attention.

When I began to get serious about doing this I purchased a voice recorder that's no larger than a pack of cigarettes. I'd then go out into the public areas and describe girls I watched from a distance into it so that I would be able to create a character with the observations. I would watch the interaction of guys and girls and describe it into the voice recorder and add my own story ideas much like jotting down notes to work with later on. It began to be something I always had with me doing this stuff and the beauty of it was most people thought I was talking on a Cell, and paid no attention to me as I worked. Beautiful ! It was handy to turn it on when sitting near someone whose voice I found intriguing just to have for the dimension of sound for the voice of a character to better better imagine them with.

Granted I wasn't an accomplished writer, never an English Honors class member, and my theme and form somewhat primitive, but dammit....I was writing PORN ! And with the help of my girl we arranged and typed the stories
which we felt to be as good as the $20 dollars worth of Pulp's we sccored
at "The Grand Wazoo" ADULT books and novelty store. (which gave our sex live a badly needed turbo boost) Back then we would have liked to get some of our friends together to read these like a Radio Production but that was before PodCast technology.

She began to learn to talk }}} D-I-R-T-Y {{{ in bed, in the back seat of the car, in semi public places late at night, and I began to see things like a Stage Director and Playwright of our own porn scenes.

In time she would sit beside me as I cyber sexed in chat rooms practicing my
"sexual chutzpah" to build up my confidence and writing ability in a dynamic

I've taken songs and rewritten words to them that my characters sing to themselves when in a scene alone that are to be overheard by someone else for the development of humor or satire.

But in the end anyone can do what I did with a few dollars of investment. And they can have the time of their live with it. I've know women who were only into straight sex who loved the stories I'd spin, while other girls were into BDSM and wither at some of the Dom tales I would write that had them pandering to my darkest side. Where I've had the most fun is telling stories of girls who are the underdogs in life who somehow learn to align all of their assets and talents into in order to succeed and acutally do the unthinkable for them......to WIN the life they've only dreamed of having.

Today I have a Flip cam corder and an RCA voice recorder (for my notes) and each has an USB upload to my computer. There I can create files with the info
I extract from my realm and organize it into a collage where I write the copy that weaves it all together and that also includes weaving the readers imagination into it as well.

Always remember, artist are often their own worst critics. They produced the work and know every flaw or inadequacy in it. Having a trusted focus group
to preview the work and offer their suggestions before releasing it for others to read is recommended. But your average public will likely be less critical.
When writing the hot stuff, try to spin a story that will give a couple orgasm's per chapter and you'll be OK.
