Writing Challenge, Amicus Version

A valid question.

I choose to believe from what I know of Amicus that if he sees this thread, he'll read it, think our writing is all crap, but be vaguely amused and complimented that it has his name on it.

Dear Recidiva...

My only question upon reading was why you? I know most of the usual suspects of the extreme left wing are simply rabid and enjoy the roast, but as far as I can recall you and I have not crossed swords before?

Another unspoken inspiration for my late at night spontaneous post was that it followed a full day of listening and watching CSPAN, US Senate hearings on the FISA court, (Federal Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978) and continuing hearings of potential legislation dealing with the 12 million undocumented aliens in the US, what to do with them and how to control the border.

Add to that, the NASA channels full coverage of a total eclipse of the sun that was televised from Side', Turkey, late that night.

As I watched and listened and thought about these very intelligent men and women explaining, discussing, debating, I began to consider all their backgrounds, education, homelife, political position, professional position and a small epiphany occured about that small percentage of people that overcome the difficulties of life and all the problems but still manage, above and beyond the personal to contribute to the greater knowledge of all mankind.

I pick on the ladies purposely, yes, a little tongue in cheek, becuz they luv it so much, the lefties, well, just the villains de jour to flavor the soup.

I don't really consider this crossing swords, more of a playful sense of humor thing, which I know you can take and was inspired by the comment:

Neonlyte: I just take offence with the sentence and anyone who thinks they can post it publicily without comment will reap my scorn.

Recidiva: I am so up for an old fashioned scorn reapin'.

I didn't have for a moment any idea that it would dent your ego a bit, so I couldn't imagine any harm being done other than a writing exercise in the "April Fools" tone.

I have had conversations with you before, but in general you've been fine to have a conversation with. I think right before I left there was a discussion about Pat Robertson or some such, it's been a while, but I do remember your general writing tone. I'd apologize if I thought I'd caused any actual distress, otherwise I'd assume that assuming this would hurt any of your feelings would be an insult to your feelings :)

New Stuff:

Since none of you seem to understand or accept philosophical and ethical terms of evidence I will just state that man in innately 'good' in his actions to survive and prosper as an individual and in freely selected associations with others.

The proof of my statement is simple, man survives. Were man innately evil as you claim, then mankind would not still exist, he would have gone extinct by failing to survive in competition with the other species of the planet.

I know you haven't a clue of what I speak and I can hear you whining already about criminals and the criminal element.

Give it a go!
