My memory is painfully short, but I do recall this being discussed not long ago. What are the rules here on Lit regarding things like daterapes, sexual harassment, sexual violence and abuse? I mean, if it's NOT there to excite, but as a nessecary part of a plot leading up to positive sex later?

I've heard it said that I couldn't even mention a real, forced rape, but I haven't seen that conformed. I have a story idea that involves a guy arrested and convicted of a rape he didn't commit. Can I write it and post it here, or will it get flushed out?

I have other ideas that in similar ways evolve from sexual harassment, underage sex, violent (but non-sexual) abuse and other illegal stuff of a non-consentual kind. Never endorsed or described in arousing ways, hardly described at all actually, but nessecary for the beliveability of the characters' behaviour.

Where's the lines drawn?

From what I understand, the protagonist eventually has to have a rewarding sexual experience.

From experience you can get away with it as long as you have a positive sex experience in the past or future. What you're describing is more tame than what I got away with before so you should be good.

speaking unofficially

There are stories of 'real rape' at lit., some in the 'non consent' category.

Erotica and porn are designed for the *reader's stimulation.* S/he should come. The protagonist's and his/her partners' comings are not necessary, though obviously often interesting. (Of course most rapist's come, so that would likely be in your 'real' story.) Killer Muffin wrote a 'real incest' story for Lit, "An Acidic Tiger." It's in the non-erotica category.

The *category* of some of these 'real' stories might be a question, but not their getting 'up' at Literotica. More violent ones might go to Horror.

You might warn the reader, for example, in the incest category: "if you want 'oh daddy, make me come again' , this realistic story is not for you."

I can also see the story of an unjust imprisonment (regardless of the crime) simply being in the nonerotic category.

There are two "lines" that I know of, such as they are:

1: No graphic descriptions of sex with under-18's involved or as witnesses. Indirect, non-graphic remembrances of forbidden sutuation are permissible if not associated with present arousal.

2: No "Rapist Fantasies." Graphic descriptions of a perpetrator's sexual arousal from the commison of a violent or illegal act. (although you could probably get away with a villain climaxing over a shady stock deal or other evil plan that works out.) Your villian can generally be aroused DURING a violent or illegal action, but NOT BECAUSE of the illegality or violence.

Both "lines" are subject to some interpretation and negotiation and are senitive to the context of the category and story particulars in each case.

That's just the plot setup, leading to him geting his groove on later in the story.

Thanks for the replies, people. It seems I can go ahead and work on it with the premises I had in mind.
