How much time do you allot to your craft on a daily basis if any? It's sometimes hard to get to the puter to get my scribblings down and sometimes I find that brilliant ideas I have had during the day just seem to dry up and drift away by the time I'm face to face with my keyboard.

Do any of you have tried and true methods that work for you... both in time spent writing and in holding on to those precious frgments of ideas?

Pencil and paper.

Sometimes you just can't write on a blank word processor page, so you write on a napkin with a spaghetti stain.

Somebody should quote that in a sig. line.

Aaaaah. Pencils. I remember those. Sometimes I have trouble seeing the nose on the side of my head.

Now if I could only learn to decipher my chicken scratchings...

I allot very little time nowadays to my craft because although I'm only slightly cautious about being seen posting on lit, the last thing I want is for any of the people I live with seeing me writing my rape dungeon erotic story in progress.

However, I am near this computer 50% of the day. Not that it matters. I produce ideas 10 times faster than I can write them out, so I have more notes on future ideas (over 40 stories planned, though some of them I've given up on for various reasons) than I know what to do with.

For this reason, I don't rush to the computer to write down every idea for an erotic story I have. If it's a good, original idea, it'll pop up in my head again.

Songs, however, are very different.

In short, WRITE THE IDEAS DOWN. Even though I can't picture sitting in front of a computer, wanting to write erotica but not knowing what to write.

I'm really just now starting to seriously make an effort to write. I am learning all about needing to discipline myself to a certain amount of time a day for my writing. I also have a notebook and pen by my bedside, as I learned that I get flooded with ideas right before I am ready to sleep. It's unnerving at times.

I set a deadline for myself with this current story too. I have until Friday to turn it in. LOL.

Oh, there's nothing worse than sitting in the word program, watching the curser go blink, blink, blink.

Erotica I don't have trouble with... it's my other writing that is causing me grief. Thanks for the advise folks. I suppose I'll have to learn to write all over again. ;)

Summery I have read a few of your poems and I gotta say... they sing. Lovely like the author. :rose: :)

Oh, well, write those down, too. Yeah, write non-erotica is hard. I don't have good story ideas any more. My good non-erotica ideas generally come in the form of dialogues.
