"Manhattan Zombie Attack"

(Think the love child of "I am Legend" and "The Walking Dead")

This is not so much a sexual role play, although if sex occurs, that's fine, too.

The specifics:

• The Disease: Something is turning people into flesh eating crazies ... Zombies. They attack mindlessly when alone, but when grouped together work almost telepathically with the most "senior" of them (as will be further explained in the In Character thread).
• They are somewhat of a cross between the zombies from "The Walking Dead" and "I am Legend", meaning:
  • In direct sunlight, they barely move and are almost totally incapable of attacking.
  • Out of direct sunlight -- in the shade or in a poorly lit building -- they move like a regular person, although sometimes a bit sluggishly.
  • In the absence of sunlight -- meaning in dark, windowless buildings or anywhere at night -- they are fast moving, like an Olympic sprinter, and vicious.
• True City Dwellers: "Nature" is their true weakness:
  • They won't walk on dirt or grass; it weakens them. So, parks, ball fields, and such -- think Central Park! -- are good places to hide out.
  • They don't do water: They die if they go into a pool of water, they are weakened -- to death if persistent -- in the rain, and they can be driven back by the "application" of water (ie, fire hoses, monster squirt guns, buckets of water, what ever).
• The Perimeter: As the disease spreads across Manhattan, the government/military demolishes the bridges and tunnels to isolate the island.
• The Survivors: That's you. We can start with just one writer and others can join at anytime. (I don't like them and don't usually use them, but in this case I will maintain an Out Of Character thread with key information so new writers can join at anytime and not feel lost.)
• The Goal: Survive! Characters will sometimes get attacked and die, so don't get to attached to yours.

This is a zombie role play with a twist, one that will now likely drive you away. (Someone else, "anotheroldguy", tried this and no one was interested, apparently.)

The role play uses real images of Manhattan for our map, our surroundings ... "our eyes" if you will. Here are the details:

• We will use Google maps street view "as our eyes". If you don't know what it is, go to this link and try it out.
• You don't have to have to be able to use Google maps street view to participate in the role. You won't be able to see where you are and will have to rely on the other writers for descriptions of stuff so you will miss out on some of the fun, I think. But hey, there's a lot of role plays that don't use so much detail, so maybe you'll be just fine.
