Is it politically correct to use the same editor for all stories a writer may submit?
I see editors that may be good for one story but another might be better suited for another genre.
I'm new and dont want to offend anyone. But I also know (from all the feedback) I need an editor.

Thank you

I use one editor for everything. I don't see where political correctness connects with this decision. I'd see this question kicking in if you used multiple editors for the same piece but didn't reveal this to the editors involved.

I ask because there are preferences as to what topics one editor prefers over another. I have found a couple on here that are willing to review and edit any topic. But I think I would feel more comfortable if they actually enjoyed reading that particular subject matter.

Then feel free to look for another editor for topics your regular editor doesn't want to do. That's a choice they made.

It's not that important that your editor enjoys, or even likes, your stories. They are there to help improve the story and sometimes a more critical eye is better than a fan.

There's nothing politically correct about it. If you have one editor, great. If you have several, great. So long as you (and they) feel it is a beneficial partnership.

I've edited for people, and there are categories I'd prefer not to read, and I state that up front. My feelings are in no way hurt if they find someone else to read those stories; in fact, I'd be pleased they found someone to help.

Literotica has many Volunteer Editors. Some are structural editors (story layout); the others are copy editors (spelling, grammar and punctuation).

I am a copy VE. About the only categories I am uncomfortable with are Anal and Gay Male. This is just me. Other VEs may have no prob w/ these categories.

Most writers are probably looking for copy VEs. Let us know what category you plan to submit under & include a snippet (three line max!) of your story. Don't do fancy editing of your snippet. Be certain your PM is on. This is how an editor will contact you.

Don't restrict yourself to a particular VE. One may be unavailable when you'r ready. Or, you may want two different sets of eyeballs to go over your story. Don't worry that we VEs enjoy reading your story - VEs are concerned that the text makes sense grammatically.
