Does everyone who writes a Rape tale get hate mail? I sure as hell have had more than my fair share this morning :D

Diss my stories, I don't care. But why hate me because they can't deal with the material?

I'm guessing, but probably yes :D I did a really weak non-consent-butnotreally story, and even that got me a few "you can't write from toffee" type emails. (Much less polite than that*L*)

Good question. Maybe I'll try to write one and find out.....Carney

Yes, pretty much... I've had two in nonconsent and I've had my share... even one in BDSM got the "you're a sick pervert, rape is WRONG!" comments...

water off a duck's back... let it roll...

Or, in some cases, piss off a duck's flank. :D

Is there another reason to publish something like that? LOL. I'd write a rape story just for the hate mail. If you had a character from the Loving Wives category raped you'd probably get love letters for dishing out justice.

Don't worry about whether people will get it right. The right people will get it. Just do your thing. :)

Maybe all the hate mail could form the basis for another story?.........Carney

I did that once! *dying with laughter* Posted it under a different author name though, and the original person it was directed to sent me a letter gushing with praise. He got back a one line email-

"The Jason in the story is you, you fucking asshole."

*snickers*

That's funny :D

All bloody day long I've gotten feedback. They fall into two catagories:
1. You fucking bitch! You should be fryed along with the rapists.
2. Hey, I always wanted to fuck a black bitch. My Yahoo (MSN) nic is XXXXXXXX Add me and we'll get off.:eek:

Actually, I suppose it's kind of humerous but pretty sick.

At a guess, I'd say you can totally ignore this category because the odds are very good they didn't bother to even read the story.

My first posted story was "non-consent" and I got into a very long "discussion" about how terrible I was for writing the "rape of a schoolgirl."

After about a week of discussion, the primary detractor of the story finally admitted that he hadn't actually read it. Once he actually read it, I got a private apology, but he never retracted his public denunciations.

If anyone is interested, the story is Schoolgirl Blackmail (Girl turns tables on would-be rapists.)

Sorry you got slammed. I don't care for them personally so I just don't read them. Why do people go and read something they don't like? I don't understand that. It's not like you're sneaking them into the erotic couplings section

Trust me, I've gotten everything from "Are you fucked in the head?" to "You're really a man aren't you?" And write something where the woman is forced into a submissive relationship, you're really asking for it. It's almost as bad as loving wife cat.

Your story stands for itself Jenny, I wouldn't worry about the idiots. You are always going to have someone who hates what you write no matter what the cat. That's why someone started the anonymous thread, so we could all laugh at the idiots.
:p

From my experience, I'd say that they give rude feedback on non-consent stories to discourage authors from writing them. That doesn't require that they actualy read them, just open them and page down to the feedback link.

The mere fact they are in the non-consent category means they're "bad stories" by "evil authors" that glorify rape and encourage the subjegation of women.

It appears that's very true, Harold. Thank you all.

I have never directly used rape in a story and don't plan on it. I have dealt with the subject once though (Conviction: In Media Res). Perhaps because the characters in the story share some trolls' opinion of rape I have never gotten any hate mail about it.

I think it's probably two-fold:

1: You didn't actually describe the rape, just the consequences.
2: The category isn't non-consent.

On reflection, it's possible to send anonymous feedback to an author without ever openg any of their stories through the "( Click on username to send feedback to member. )" feature of the submissions page. Rude public comments still require opening the story, but e-mail feedback doesn't.

You're probably right. Thanks for the feedback, Harold. :)

What is UP with that!??!

Write a story about rape--"You must be a man!"
Write a story about a woman liking anal sex--"You must be a man!"

Sheesh!

The point is... our fine readers will download or rent RAPE videos and jack off all night. But if you write a Rape story. You are a horrid person who is permoting rape.

That's just stupid.
