London = 750,000
NY, NY = 250,000

Add in the rest of the 600 cities and that's a lot of people.

Divide that by the total world's population and you have Saddam's chances of surviving the month...

dude New York has a population of 5 million.... and 2 guys from Riga told me that some one said that 1 million are Russians ... :confused:

Nice sources.

Now estimates for the London protest is up to around two million.

Of stupid people in large numbers....

That's right... if anybody doesn't agree with you they MUST be stupid! I get it now! :rolleyes:

I think that people have a right to voice their opposition to a war with Iraq, I just wish that the people of Iraq could voice their opposition to Saddam without fear.

In London, the Police say 750,000 the People say 2 million, the guy I talked to who was there said that it was probably somewhere in between. San Jose was fairly packed.

And if 100 Iraqi people got together to protest Saddam, the butcher of Bagdad will have them mowed down with machine gun fire...bodies identified and than their family member would be taken in the middle of night, interrogated than executed...march on people while others fight for your freedom to do so...

The entire population of Riga, NY happens to be those two guys you spoke to.

Not one single report of rallys for the war even though they've occured.

I heard an interview today with a member of the Iraqi National Congress. This is the group that rose up right after the Gulf War, poised to run a democratic government after Hussein's overthrow. It's also the same group that we left high and dry at the behest of the UN. He lives now in the US with his wife and seven children. He's going back to Iraq in a coupl weeks to help the resistance movement which still exists far underground there. The interviewer asked why he would leave the security he has here, and his family, to go where there is a death sentence on his head. He told the interviewer that his people are being slughtered every day and that now, after 12 long years, there is a real chance that they can be free. That was worth his potential loss of life. That struck me as more noble than anything else I saw today.

He also recounted the purge Hussein mounted against that resistance once it was sure that there was no outside help forthcoming. According to this man (who lived it, so I suppose he'd know better than most), Hussein killed 300,000 Iraqis to put down the resistance.

That's 50,000 more than showed up in NYC, for a good sense of scale.

But they're just Iraqis.

The Chinese kill way more of their own and we just talk, talk, talk...

I say every leader of every country has the right to kill as many of his own fawkers as he can get his hands on. I have some ideas for GWB :D !
