The wife has been complaining about our little space heaters in the place. To be honest I haven't been happy with them either. They pump out heat and blow it around but they don't heat well and they cost a lot to run.
We went down to a local Home Improvement Store today and looked at heaters. Talk about an assortment. They had at least 30 different kinds. We finally settled on two. They are both smallish Oil Filled radiators.
We brought them home and put them in place. One in the Living Room and the other in the Dining Room. We replaced four other heaters with these two.
This evening when the outside temps dropped below 60° we turned them on and quickly started to sweat. These damned things were putting out a lot of heat. We had to dial them down.
Right now they are set at almost their lowest setting and the trailer is more than comfortable. I'll be interested in seeing how they work if and when the temps here get down into the lower forties or high thirties.

This kind of reminds me of the first time my father and I made a Wood Furnace using two 55 gallon drums. WE put it together and set it up in the basement. We had the blowers in place as well as the vents. (Up until then we had heated the house with a woodstove in the living room.)
One night it got cold. We had been heating the house with the wood stove and things were getting a bit chilly. My father had even put on a sweatshirt. We lookd at the thermometer and saw the outside temps were in the lower 20's and the inside temp was around 50°. We decided to fire up the furnace.
We set up the starting fire and got it lit, then we added some wood and closed the door. We turned on the blowers and opened the registers then headed back upstairs. Not long after I watched as my father removed his Sweat Shirt. I was soon skinning down to my T-Shirt. Half an hour after firing up the Furnace we looked at the thermometer and were shocked at what wwe saw. The house waas now at 80° even though the outside temps were running at below 20°.
It took us a while to get used to this furnace but man did we love it.
