Would you consider changing your lit name?

I've seen some weird, wonderful and creative names on lit. I pulled these from the favourites list:

"_"
"mrbaddaddy" (who by the way is probably married to "mrscanyon" )
"herlittlepiggy"
"ggnforyou6" (although that means there is another 5 floating around)
"cphucker"
"rockandroller"

I look at lit names and get a first impression from them, just like if I was meeting someone. (just before posting this, I checked, and herlittlepiggy has some d/s themes (right) and is male (wrong))

A few times I have read the name wrong (yeah, may just go for that eye check ;)), and about 6 months later, I realise it, and think, wow, that makes sense now. Other times, I continue to think of them what I originally thought there name was, because I have formed an identity in my mind.

Given that I place some emphasis on lit names (but one of many things that make up the whole), have you ever reconsidered your lit name? (I'm not talking alts). If so, what did you consider changing your lit name too? Does your lit name say more or less about you than you think? Why did you decide your lit name? Am I ranting and in need of another drink?

Me - I never gave my lit name any thought. It was a 2 or 3 second thing when joining. It's been so long now I couldn't be bothered changing, and I really wouldn't know what to change it to. Plus, is it kind of like hotmail or realestate around here - kind of hard to get the name you want?

I didnt really give much thought to my name here. It used to be a nickname in RL. I dont think I'd change it though, it took me forever to reach 100 posts.

I used to have loads of diff names on various sites, but when I was about 19 I came up with this one and now it's so much a part of me that I have been known to answer to it IRL :D

If I changed it, it would be for some very very big bad reason (like if I got trolled to the point of bullying etc) but otherwise nope, couldn;t do it.

I even have a nickname of my screen name - Mils- that's how much of a real person Vermilion is.

If I sign up to a new site and they don't have it available then I try and come up with some version of it like MissVermilion, MistressV, LadyVermilion etc...
Though now I have my new writing pseudonym as well, so I have three personalities now! :D

I'm Boota in real life, so it's a natural just to go with that. Few of my close friends even knew my real name until my book came out and I handed them a free copy. Then they all said, "Who the fuck is Scott Carpenter?" LOL. I'm Boota on most of the message boards I've frequented over the years.

Nah.

Mine is short, snappy and easy to remember.

Quite the opposite of me in real life. ;)

It's a nice thought I think most of us have about our screen names. However after seven years at a site it's difficult to change a name.

I did once already. Too many felines 'round here.

That's for sure, and I'm not even a cat person.

I've tossed around the idea of changing mine occasionally, because I think it gives people the impression I'm a bit dim-witted. However, people know me now as TK, and I don't want to be a virgin again and have to explain and all that.

Anyway, if I changed, it would be to a more regular pen name.

If anything, I'd just shorten it. Imp is too much a part of who I am now.

There was an original reason, but someone else already had my first pick. I wanted to pay homage to my then-fiancee, but it was too many m's. I quickly realized if I wasn't careful it could end up sounding too much like that prick whose music I hate. Got tired of messing with it, just threw the h at the head and left it that way. In hindsight I'd capitalize that H. However since then, I was dubbed Tihmmnmm by a poet. I was never good with names and titles and screen names and stuff. Always felt odd doing it. But there it is and you just learn to live with it.

I am TheeGoatPig (there is no R in my name ;) ) on every site that I go to for the last five or six years. Even though I felt insulted by it the first few times I heard it called out on voice chat in Counter Strike (combat video game), it has since become a part of my sub conscience, and who I am.

I won't be changing it any time soon. What would I change it to? There just isn't anything as fitting for me that I have ever heard.

I just recently realized that quite a few people don't translate my name..............I always considered it obvious. ;)

Only if you were good at Bumper Stumpers. (showing my age? or my couch potato tendencies from the 80s/90s?)

Thee: What does you name refer to?

XsNrg: I don't do obvious and I'm ALWAYS stumped by bumper stumpers. How's abouts sounding it out for me?
