I have this. My stories Twenty and Forty partly overlap - we see the same episodes from two different points of view. I made sure that the two stand alone, but several readers commented on en joying the "a ha!" moments when they saw the connections.

I thought of them as separate stories, but have put them in the same series. They were published a week apart and have roughly similar engagement figures. Twenty has slightly more views, but then it's much shorter when compared to Forty, so I'd expect that.

In your case, I wonder whether the readership for First Time and Group Sex are different, and whether putting them together like that might put some readers off as they think they need to read the Mum's story first... whereas, by the sounds of things, they don't.

Reading chapter one first ought to enhance the experience, but I tried to construct 1.5 to work either way, as freestanding or parallel. Chapter Two, coming tomorrow, returns to the end of Chapter one and continues that narrative.

I have also tried the "alternate POV in parallel stories" experiment, in a two-part series called It Ain't Incest If... Chapter one is dad and mom in their bed listening to daughter masturbating in her bed on the other side of the wall, leading o admission of incest thoughts and then roleplay involving the couple. Chapter Two covers the same sequence from the daughter's POV. Sometimes I wonder whether too much time has passed to revisit and add a chapter where it leads to actual incest.
