Countries that have a combination of socially conservative moral values and a moderately interventionist economic system with a sizable state sector are usually more successful than either liebertarian/classic liberal or liberal/social democratic ones.

We must adopt these policies in America or we are doomed.

Name one of those countries

and don't say Russia... Russia's wealth is solely due to it's oil

Russia's oil wealth has to do with the fact that its controlled by a state owned company so it backs up the point. :D

and it's also controlled by foreign national companies..not all of it is controlled by the central governments.. plus there are companies that are joint owned by Russia and foreign nationals

Canada has a similar situation, we have crown corporations.. a business partnership between the public and private sector, but wholely overseen by the government

so Canada actually refutes your point.. we're not socially conservative, have what you think of, and are one of the strongest economies in the world

I believe Gazprom is fully state owned, but at any rate I reject your assertion that Russia's economic recovery is even mostly based on oil.

Also, I said successful countries, there is more to being successful than economic success.

you can reject it all you want, but untill Russia took control over propertary rights to their own oil, they couldnt afford to pay their military their own wages and there were breadlines

and Canada is quite successful..barely even noticed the great economic meltdown
