You know there are times I start on a story, but than I start on another. This is mostly due to when I either get writer's block or I am a slow part of another story and an exciting part of another. Anyone else do this?

And I also have another question. Would it be consider rude to be posting a story here, but than start posting another? I am just curious.

I don't interrupt one story to write another (but most of my stories are written in a single setting anyway), but I do interrupt work on a novel to write stories. Did that today.

I do that all the time. I have three different stories going right now. Whenever I get blocked or go stale on one I switch to another. I've had five stories in the hopper before. However, once I really catch fire on one I work on it until it's finished.

If you mean posting several stories in a row that's your option. You do run the risk of possibly wearing out your welcome with the readers. An overkill of sorts. ;)

I have dozens of stories working at the same time. Sometimes this causes problems, because I have to review what I have written before I can proceed, but it's better than trying to finish one story before starting another.

It's not the least bit rude to have more than one story pending at a time. Probably most of us do that sometimes. :)

Always. I have just finished one that I started midway through another that I started before I finished another. Of course my stories are longer than most, currently. None of them are less than 30,000 words. These are stories I have written but not for publication here.

Stories here are usually a little shorter, 10k or so.

I can't do it. If I drop one to work on another, I forget to go back to the first one.

I too write multiple stories at a time. I find that I can broaden the range of activities in a book if I work on it chapter by chapter, then let it percolate. I do a lot of rewriting which can be tedious and not as fun as flowing through the action, but I always think the rewrite is far better than the original.

I have four stories currently underway and the main drawback is when my writer's block lifts I can't work on more than one at one sitting.

I enjoy posting them chapter by chapter, serial style. It keeps them coming back and checking for updates.

i lose motivation all the time. the number of pieces in my 'in progress' folder ...

well, there's a few, some about 15k words in length.

as for the second question - what do you mean by 'posting'?
