My local county council has just announced as a response to a Freedom of Information request that two employees were sacked and one resigned because they had accessed pornography on their work computers.

Those three employees were just some of the 5,000+ accesses to pornography from the council's computers last year. They claim that most are inadvertent pop-ups.

The depth of your analysis is astounding. Where I went to school, a high school English teacher could read a student theme and then generate a fair, accurate grade. Now, when it turns out that they pubic schools are graduating people who can't read and are dangerous to those about them, then only answer that the people who run the public schools can come up with is "Give us more money." I submit that said answer offers no change, just more of the same and is idiotic. However, what's really idiotic is that many people are willing to pay for more of the same, failing scheme.

I don't think he has idiotic beliefs, just a lack of common sense.

From everything I've seen in this country, we always need to be able to point a finger and blame someone else. And from what I've seen in public schools, I still don't blame schools for stupid ass people that don't try.

If someone can't read after they've had twelve years to give it an honest shot, that's their own fault. The teachers and school systems I've seen try and try and try, and lazy ass kids buck against them and just go through the motions, thinking "can't wait till I get outta this garbage, I'll make my own rules then!"
That's not the school's responsibility to "make" someone learn. I mean short of torturing the damn kids, whaddya want them to do? Raise the kids?

The kids are dumbasses because the parents are dumbasses. No one cares. No one tries anymore. We just go through the motions. Meanwhile, those teachers that were once enthusiastic think "why the hell bother?"

There was a time when knowledge was seen as a great privilege. We shit on that now. Because we are lazy, and the only ones we should point the finger at is ourselves.

So when they ask for money, they're usually trying to make that school so awesome that it'll make our lazy asses take interest. But it doesn't. We instead whine because more people want our tax dollars. No, the school systems ain't perfect, but I don't think us not supporting them is gonna help anything at all.

Probably shouldn't bother but what the hell. The 16 year old said yes to hooking because she gave blowjobs and got money. Think about that for a second. A blowjob usually takes about fifteen minutes on the outside and is easy to do especially if he lies on the bed.

School system sucks, let's fix it by making it so nobody fails no matter what they do. That is why kids are not paying attention, they don't have to. If their parents are not harping on them to get good grades, they won't.

Despite never, ever passing even an assignment in high school English, I was given a passing grade at the end of the class, because they lacked the guts to flunk a student who would become a National Merit Scholarship finalist.

After I got out of school, I managed to learn computer programming, on my own. I then found that I was as good at programming computers as anyone I ever met and much better than most.
At one point, the company for which I worked lost a couple of contracts and was in layoff mode. I needed a paycheck, so I accepted the challenge of teaching Navy enlisted people to program. The job was considered to be impossible.
Before I started to teach the class, I thought back to my high school days. Either everyone else was fucked up or I was fucked up. I knew that I wasn't fucked up. So the educational system was fucked up.
I then developed what I call the Multiple Structure Teaching System. The MSTS corrects what's wrong with the educational system and it worked spectacularly well. However, I didn't have a PhD, so I have been unable to get my system used.
