I should imagine that most of if not all of us have heard someone, somewhere, say something that had meaning. Whether it be from your parents or a lover, or just the next door neighbour.

For me it was a tragic moment in my life, the death of my father.
We were on holiday (or as you Americans say, vacation) my father suffered from angina, or hardening of the arteries.

After going for a swim we were both in the changing rooms when he suddenly clutched his chest saying, "It's never been this bad Carl" and then fell into my arms.

What I would've given, at that moment in time for any training in life saving techniques but all I could do was lay him down and go for help. He died shortly afterwards, leaving us only memories of a good man gone but not forgotten.

The fact that his very last word was my name has always stuck in my mind, perhaps because I never got the chance to say anything back before he was taken.

This all happened several years ago and is still strongly embeded into my mind and thoughts. It made me wonder if you have similar experiences, perhaps not as tragic but thought provoking.
