I received an e-mail this morning. I am sure that its probably doing the rounds and so some of you may already have seen it. I feel sorry for you lot if Goerge W Bush is your leader (on the assumption, of course, that these quotes are authentic). Here they are, do you remember any of them at the time he uttered the senseless dribble? .......

"Republicans understand the importance of bondage between a mother and child." ....Governor George W. Bush, Jr.

"Welcome to Mrs. Bush, and my fellow astronauts."
...Governor George W. Bush, Jr.

"The Holocaust was an obscene period in our nation's history. I mean in this century's history. But we all lived in this century. I didn't live in this century."
....Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 9/15/95

"I believe we are on an irreversible trend toward more freedom and democracy - but that could change." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 5/22/98

"One word sums up probably the responsibility of any Governor, and that one word is 'to be prepared'."
....Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 12/6/93

"Verbosity leads to unclear, inarticulate things." ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 11/30/96

"I have made good judgments in the past. I have made good judgments in the future." ....Governor George W. Bush, Jr.

"The future will be better tomorrow." ....Governor George W. Bush, Jr.

"We're going to have the best educated American
people in the world." ....Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 9/21/97

"I stand by all the misstatements that I've made." ....Governor George W. Bush, Jr. to Sam Donaldson,
8/17/93

"We have a firm commitment to NATO, we are a part of NATO. We have a firm commitment to Europe. We are a part of Europe." ....Governor George W. Bush, Jr.

"I am not part of the problem. I am a Republican" ...Governor George W. Bush, Jr.

"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls." ....Governor George W. Bush, Jr

"When I have been asked who caused the riots and the killing in LA,my answer has been direct & simple: Who is to blame for the riots? The rioters are to blame. Who is to blame for the killings? The killers are to blame. ....George W. Bush, Jr.

"Illegitimacy is something we should talk about in terms of not having it." ....Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 5/20/96

"We are ready for any unforeseen event that may or
may not occur." ....Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 9/22/97

"For NASA, space is still a high priority."....Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 9/5/93

"Quite frankly, teachers are the only profession that teach our children."....Governor George W. Bush, Jr., 9/18/95

Before this year, I could not have cared less about who won the election. But this year I couldn't just sit back and watch that IDIOT Bush any longer. I voted for Gore, and I don't care what others think of me for doing it either. Yes, he does have his bad points, but his good ones outweigh anything Bush ever has done, or ever will do. Just my input for anyone who cares.

I'm so sick of people talking about "loopholes".

Would you characterize an archaic element in election law that enables a person to win when getting fewer votes than the opponent as a "loophole"?

(subtext: There's no "loopholes" there's just laws, and each side will and (IMO) should try to use whichever ones are appropriate in this case)

If we want to talk about using every legal advantage despite common sense and public opinion let's call Ken Starr for an opnion.

(Subtext: Reap what you sow)

That said, I wish everyone the best, and look forward to supporting the outcome, whatever it is.

(Subtext: Fucking republican bastards. If the courts don't work, let's go for C4 and hollow points)

Hmmm.... Are you the same Daytripper that accused me of being rude to the elderly on the Breaking News-19,000 ballots disqualified thread? C4 and hollow points are much more civil, I see.

Me thinks that a time out is required for Daytripper,,, everyone to their corners and breathe slowly,,,

now, leaving your c-4 and hollow points at home and safely tucked away, come out sparring,,,

Slut_boy,,, now that was funny,,, I'm only sorry that you beat me to the posting of it,,,

OKAY!!!! Who has the Gore goofs page ??? Equal oppurtunity laughter is what I'm after here,,,

Is it true that if Bush becomes president, the Secret Service code name for him will be 'Yogi'?

DAMN IT Nite,,, I was sipping coffee when I read that,,, now I've got one hell of a mess to clean up,,,, just as soon as I can quit laughing that is,,,,

still chuckling as I leave the 'puter room,,,

I would rather have Bush than Gore.

However, It does not look like Gore is man enough to admit defeat. In his mind, he'll be president by any means possible. If he has to sue the United States citizens to be declared the winner, he will.

Gore is a man bent on power. He shall rule.

The Gore attitude has destroyed the election process. He can't be trusted. He is more than a sore loser. He is a power freak.

Say what you will about George Bush. Al Gore is a dangerous man.

And what presidential contender isn't a power freak? That's the very essence of being THE president.

I really can't see where one is any more dangerous than the other.

Hmmm...

I don't think Gore is anymore power hungry than Bush...
I think you pretty much have to be to want that position, wouldn't want a follower as a leader of the nation. Need someone to step out there even if sometimes your wrong.

Yeah....Gore wants this to take longer to make sure he gets in for the same reason Bush wants to take the numbers the way they are now so he can be president.

As exasperating as this election is turning out and as much as I would like to have it over...I also would like to make sure that the person getting in the office whoever it may be is the one who truly got voted for!

On that note I REALLY do need to go to work or I'll be in trouble with my leader....hee hee!

Johnny, at the risk of being called a name dropper, I met Governor Bush a year ago. He spent an afternoon with myself & others after a mass shooting that killed my son & 6 others. I addressed this on another thread. Bush is as power hungry, if not more so, than Gore. He has to prove that he is better than his brother & better than his daddy. Do we really want a President whose main qualification is that his daddy was President? He hasn't an original thought in his head & to me that is very scarey. The President has to be able to represent us on the world stage & I honestly don't think that Bush has that ability. He will do fine as long as he as a writer with him 24/7. I will say it again, Governor Bush is a nice man who I wouldn't mind having to dinner at my house, but I don't think he has the ability to deal with events on the world stage.

Teresa,

I am deeply sorry about your son.

I am not a Republican, nor am I really all that happy with Bush. (I do not like Gore this is true. That's my right. I don't have to like him.)

But the truth seems to be, He won the election.

This is my point. I can see this being decided in a court. This is not the way it is supposed to be. We had an election.

The scariest thought about a Bush victory is that it will bring Hillary four years closer to her ultimate goal.

Could you rephrase your question?

If I understand your gibberish I think you want to know who I supported. Neither. Although I do find it immensely amusing that some of you say Bush doesn't have a mandate from the people if he is the winner. He has 48% of the popular vote. As does Gore. Clinton had 43% in 1992. Doh!

Bullshit. Does it matter if the Super Bowl champ won by 50 points or 1 point? (sports analogies are allowed, ask the Reverend Jackson and his on Joe Louis and Muhammed Ali) Sure, you do instant replay on a controversial call, like the recount, but you don't play the game over.

There, you've switched to name calling.

Lazy?

Do you feel superior now?

I still don't think you know what you are talking about.

But that's just my opinion.

Been reading CNN and Yahoo news, does'nt change my opinion.

And It is only an opinion. I do have that right, I think.

I also get a bit of a thrill being a devils advocate and causing reactions in narrow minded people.

There, I to have switched to name calling.

But do not feel superior for it.

(Isn't CNN owned by Liberal Ted Turner?)
