Hello Literoticans!

I'm just checking out the forums, reading this and that, the FAQS, ect. Looks like a pretty neat place. Since I'm new here, is there anything I need to be warned about before I start posting my poetry and stories? Please fill me in.

Thanks, Daisy May

2. No poofdas.
3. Don't be worried about what you hear on the forums. Most everyone here is usuall kidding and a lot of fun.
4. No poofdas.
5. There is no #5
6. No poofdas.
7. In case of doubt, ask. Most people are more than willing to answer your question, and sometimes are even helpful.
8. No poofdas.

Welcome to the AH! :rose:

You might wanna check out the Newbie thread, there's all sorts of info in there, and most of your questions have probably already been asked there by someone else.

Enjoy!

Than God I'm not the only one who doesn't know.

I don't know if EA is aware of it, but 'poofda' is derogatory slang for a homosexual.

I thought that was "poof", "poofter", "woofter", etc.

One friendly word of advice I would offer. The people who are really interested in at least some of the categories are very picky about what they think is good and what is not. If I were you, a new author, I would read a selection of the stories in a category in which I wished to post. If you find that your point of view differs greatly from the stuff you read, you might consider posting in a different category.

JMHO.

What's poofdas?

I believe this is a reference to the Monty Python sketch that takes place at Australia's University of Woollamoollu (not sure of the spelling). In welcoming a new member to the philosophy department, they read off a list of rules, including "No poofters," which would be a slang term for a gay man.

Thank you! I haven't checked it out but I'm heading there now.

Yes, I was referring to the Monty Python Live at the Hollywood bowl sketch. I was not attempting to be derogatory in any way . . . just silly and geek-like.

:p

1) Don't call Svenskaflicka "Sven"
2) Poems usually post the next day, sometimes 48 hours
3) Stories take much longer

Welcome to the AH Daisy May. Best advice I can give you about your stories is to go and read the Writer's Resources section; there's a lot of a good advice in there.

Good luck navigating this bunch of weirdos.

Hi Daisy May, welcome to the AH!

I haven't got much more to add to what has already been said, just have fun!

Let us know when you've submitted your first story or poem. I'm sure many will head on over and have a read.
