When they got to the Hatter's house, he let go of her hand. He moved to one of the windows, cupping his hands around his face to try and see inside. It was like looking into a wall of pure darkness. Even with the light they had, he should have been able to see soomething inside. He gave up after a few moments before looking back at Chas.
"I can't see a damn thing. Even a dark house allows some light in to see inside. Why don't you...."
He trailed off as he heard movement near the door and then the lock clicked open. A sliver of light appeared around the door which slowly widened by the second. Josh grabbed Chas's hand just as the Hatter reached out and pulled the both of them in, slamming the door behind them.
The Hatter looked between the two of them excitedly before speaking quickly.
"Were you followed? Did anyone see you come here?"
Josh glanced towards the windows, seeing they had been covered up with blankets.
