There appears to be a delay of some sort right now. All eleven of my prior stories were approved within 48 hours, I’ve had one pending since July 25th, which is abnormal. I know at least one other author here who has similarly had all their stories approved within 48 hours and has also been waiting since July 25th.Hi, I posted a story on 21st of July yet it's still pending. I thought it usually takes a couple of days, maybe I'm missing something. Let me know if I can do something to expedite the process?
thanks
Why is this in any way helpful?Yo Awk, is the bar open?
I did thanks! You can DM Laurel, the story reviewer, here in the forums. She often does not respond to such messages, but if the delay is for technical problems then your story may get published. A number of threads by people experiencing waits of two weeks or more suggests that there is a backlog, though, and she may just not have had a chance to get to it yet.
I see, Ig if I'm not the only one there must be another reason for the delay haha, thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it!There appears to be a delay of some sort right now. My “story” is a how to essay about HTML formatting and not something AI could come up with. And it’s has no underage whatsoever.
I’d suggest wait a bit. Maybe Laurel took a break, or was unwell, or has a big backlog.
That’s deeply frustrating to hear. It’s one thing to be caught in a site-wide backlog. It’s quite another to have other authors skip the queue. This is very discouraging and disappointing.I don't want to make anyone worry about their story, but I was surprised when my submission today was approved in 6 hours. Slower than it has averaged but not massively so.
I had seen enough people like Penny getting delays that I thought there might be a system wide delay. I was also worried something had happened to Laurel.
How too… My last essay was in How To… as well and approved in two hours with an Editor’s Choice thrown in. It’s a factual essay, just like my previous one. And it’s only one Lit page.I suspect there might be a different queue per category. What category are you guys trying to post in?
I dunno, maybe she wants to read it instead of just skimming it.How too… My last essay was in How To… as well and approved in two hours with an Editor’s Choice thrown in. It’s a factual essay, just like my previous one. And it’s only one Lit page.
It’s not the category. It’s something else that I don’t understand. The randomness is kind of depressing.
Mine is Lesbian, but there are a couple of elements that I'm worried might have required extra scrutiny. Which is fine if that's the case! I just wish there was more transparency to the processI suspect there might be a different queue per category. What category are you guys trying to post in?
She tries to keep the flow steady into each category, over a week. That means low volume categories fast track, high volume category can slow to keep the pace steady. I don't think there's that much favouritism or special treatment, although I do suspect writers who are "known entities" might get through a little quicker - I'm sure she has little notes on all of us.How too… My last essay was in How To… as well and approved in two hours with an Editor’s Choice thrown in. Are you sure you haven’t accidentally mentioned some HTML tag that was introduced within the last two decades? Remember that this is Literotica we’re talking about; the only HTML formatting that’s guaranteed to work is the one from the turn of the centuryMy “story” is a how to essay about HTML formatting and not something AI could come up with. My relatively quick approval was the first chunk of a novel in N&N. Very little sexual content yet, every character is a college junior or older, so nothing really controversial.I suspect there might be a different queue per category. What category are you guys trying to post in?
Maybe she doesn't want someone overdoing it.Are you sure you haven’t accidentally mentioned some HTML tag that was introduced within the last two decades? Might want to kill your IG spam on your profile.Hi, I posted a story on 21st of July yet it's still pending. I thought it usually takes a couple of days, maybe I'm missing something. Let me know if I can do something to expedite the process?

My [limited] experience of spacing is that she approves but gives the piece a later publishing date. This hasn’t been approved after many days, which is very strange. And it’s happening to other authors with equally blameless content and a longer track record than me. It’s deeply discouraging that the same process is not applied evenly. She tries to keep the flow steady into each category, over a week. At the risk of saying the same thing three times, my submission is a one page essay about how to use HTML to format Literotica stories. There is no questionable content. My relatively quick approval was the first chunk of a novel in N&N. I imagine that she'd like to give it a thorough once-over to make sure the technical stuff is factually correct. At the risk of saying the same thing three times, my submission is a one page essay about how to use HTML to format Literotica stories. There is no questionable content.
That does happen, yes. My second last piece (very short and categorised Non-erotic) was approved in 24 hours but published three days later. My [limited] experience of spacing is that she approves but gives the piece a later publishing date.
I wouldn't fret. I've had short stories published in 24 hours or less, my usual is 2 - 3 days, my longest (which needed a prompt to Laurel) was eleven days. It's one of those things that folk worry about, moan about, get excited about but really, it's pissing in the wind. It's not ideal, but be here long enough, you'll see the same cyclic delays, same time every year, year in, year out. Maybe the woman has holidays, gets sick, gets tired of reading endless variations on the same stories, I don't know. But one thing is certain, unless your story gets rejected, in the end it will eventually get published. This hasn’t been approved after many days, which is very strange. As each piece of code is both shown and then its result, it would be pretty hard not to be factually correct. It’s also based on comments by Manu.I imagine that she'd like to give it a thorough once-over to make sure the technical stuff is factually correct.
