According to New Scientist, recent research proves that men ignore women because a high-pitched voice is harder for us to pay attention to.

Don't bother to argue. I won't listen anyway.

I'd have to agree with that. I've heard some women on TV that I wonder how their men could stand to talk to them! I'm glad I have a sexy alto ...

That's the first time I've heard it being called an alto. I'll have to add it to my list.

I should think it is easier to listen to than a high-pitched male voice

;)

Have youheard scouse women arguing?

It's so high pitched it makes your ears bleed.

I'd never make a scouse gal angry for fear of the high pitchedness!!!!

Did you say something?

LOL she giggles in a deafening five octaves higher than Michael Jackson. (And you thought it wasn't possible!)

After working in a factory, I've learned that I drone out loud, high pitched noises...even with ear plugs and the whole nine yards...

Of course, if someone's had an annoying voice (and or speaking habits in general) I tend to just kinda hear "blah, blah, blah.."

I have a high singing voice which often gets attention.

But in the morning I sound like a baritone.

Too much whiskey, I guess.

I was hoping you sounded like a French horn.

I wonder if I type in a high pitched tone too.

I'm a first soprano w/ second soprano tendencies but I am told I have a very lush speaking voice.

I have a singing range anywhere between Descant and Alto. Speaking voice, I'd say I'm probably mid-range. The most compliments I receive are regarding my voice . . . I understand that it's quite pleasant and unusual, from what they tell me.

Damn -- I should do audio stories! :)

This is probably true of other women as well. I know I tend to tune out the high-pitched screechy whining.
