It had been decided when she finished high school she would move, she had the money to do it since her parents were gone and buried. She had no other family so staying in the city was stupid. So she decided to do something, she graduated high school two years ahead partly because of her intelligence but also because she took all the courses she had to. She managed to do some college courses so she could become a nurse, which was easy to her.

Her mother was a nurse and her father had been a doctor, so the medical field was something she knew by the time she graduated from high school. She managed to get herself a small job but it meant her driving out of the city and to a nice little place. Eden had her own little gift she listened to her instincts since her instincts had kept her from getting into a car accident last year. When she moved to Wolf Lake she had a feeling there was a lot of mystery to it.

When she moved in she had a nice welcome from the sheriff and they actually helped her move in which she thought was very nice. She still remembered when during the move a family noticed some of her drawings they were of wolves. The way she drew wolves showed the beauty that she saw in them. She saw beauty in all living things, and she was a kindred soul. And figured she would learn what there was about this place in time.

Eden had no idea everyone here was a werewolf, she didn't know much of anything but she was happy there. Though while the sun was setting and there were three more hours left of the sun, she began jog in the woods since she had been told of a path. She was humming a song when she heard something and stopped, she cocked her head a bit "Hello?" She called and didn't hear anything. Shrugging her shoulders thinking that it was just her imagination.

But she heard something again this time much louder and she stopped seeing a lot of blood, and began to follow the trail and saw something big as she got closer she saw a hunters trap and what looked like a wolf. "Oh god" She put her hands up "Shhh let me help you I'm not here to hurt you" She walked a couple more steps but then she got on her knees taking a huge risk she knew, but in her heart and in her eyes she wanted to help.

The large wolf about the size of a miniature horse stood in the trap. It had Amber colored eyes and a coat of grey. He was a magnificent creature well muscled and had a few deep yet old scars. He looked at you watching you studying you as you talk to him.

The night air causes his breath to coalesce into a soft mist. he was breathing fine but any slight shift it winced. The wolf never took his eyes off you. It didn't seem to shy away from you.

The wolf sniffed you, smelling your scent and than gestured to his ensnared paw. He was obviously in pain and shivered as he tried to lift it so you could see it better. He growled and than gave a soft short howl and than breathed a little heavier as his blood dripped from the trap and than whimpered as he gestured again.

Eden watched the beautiful beast and when she got closer, he was huge she had never seen a wolf that big. But she was side by side with it and looked at the trap, she remembered hearing about the next town over some people coming over here to hunt. Looking at the trap she cracked her neck a bit. Her stormy eyes looked at the trap and then with her hands she grabbed the trap trying not to cause any more pain. She was tugging at it and was not able to open it right away, but then she heard his whimper. She knew the poor wolf was in pain, it was so easy to see it and sense it.

And that did something to her, gripping the trap harder as she grunted a little bit and began to slowly open it. Her rage could make her really strong if she wished it, and she had wished it so she smiled once the trap was open. Looking at the wounded wolf she sighed a little bit "I detest hunters, not everything was put on our world to hunt." She looked down at her black shirt and ripped off a piece of it. She wrapped the wound up and looked up into the wolves amber eyes and smiled. "You will be okay" Seeing the size of his paws, they were almost as big as her own hands.

The wolf came forward and ran its face over your cheek and than licked you in appreciation as he than nodded and turned. The wolf started to walk a bit only to wince and fall over it howled a bit in pain and than rolled back to its feet. It limped over to you and whimpered as it licked at your hand.

The wolf was gentle and intentive. He was injured and was still needing help. He leaned against you and whimpered.

She watched the wolf and smiled a little but then noticed what the wolf did, and it actually broke her heart. When he came back over she stroked his cheek running her fingers in his soft fur. But then she thought of something, she had a fanny pack on with stuff in case she got hurt. Taking out a vial she smiled. Kneeling back down she picked up his paw and poured the liquid over the wound, looking up at him. Something about this wolf was different, and it wasn't just the fact the wolf was so much bigger.

"This should help with the pain, it will numb up your paw for a few hours. Should do good till you get back to your lair" She talked to the wolf like he was another human being, she respected nature and it appeared nature respected her. She thought since she was only a few feet from her home. "I can take you back to my home its not very fair" She said softly her grey eyes looking into his amber ones. Running her fingers in his fur and enjoyed the warmth, she got along better with animals then people.

It gave out a soft painful whimper when you poured stuff on its wound but didn't try to bite you.It instead held its paw up and stood there looking at you waiting for you lead him.

He followed you though slowly as he whimpered and barely put pressure on his paw he walks and continues on as he follows his tail down as he is in a lot of pain.

She smiled at him and helped him walk best she could, she grabbed her house key and watched him and it broke her heart more. She opened up the door and showed him inside shutting her door. Her home was simple yet beautiful at the same time. It had a nice fire place as well, she knelt down in front of the fireplace and struck a match to start the fire up in the fireplace. Looking up she sighed "Well make yourself at home" She slipped out of her shoes and hung up her coat as well. She went to get her first aid kit.

He walked as best as he could over to the fireplace and laid down he curled up so he could watch you. He watched you intently studying you as if trying to figure you out his eyes were very expressive.

In his curled form he was the size of an ottoman and seems comfortable around fire. he stayed about a good 3 feet away from the fireplace and seems to enjoy the heat. His ears where working and twitching as was his nose. but his eyes never left you.

She came back with the kit and smiled a little bit she looked at him and smiled a little. She knelt down beside him and saw the paw in the light, her stormy eyes looking at the wound and knew it would be okay. "It will be a few days before your paw is of any use to you I am afraid, but you are more then welcome to stay here. Many people think animals are ignorant but I like to think you are highly intelligent"

She said with a big smile on her face "Besides we seem to understand each other just fine" She tended to the wound making sure stitches wouldn't be needed and put on a cream that was warm on his skin. Looking at him once she was done "Are you hungry?" She said to him she had enough meat to feed him that much she knew, she was open to the situation before her and was rather happy, she slowly ran her fingers on his back showing a tender touch and a kind heart that she had.

He winced as you worked on him, but all in all he didn't try to do anything to you. he looked about now after you finished and than when you said food he pants and than licks you.

After the lick he puts his head on your lap and looks up at you his ears relaxed. He rests and his eyes begin to blink a bit, and than slowly drifts off snoring a bit as he lay there resting on your lap.

Eden smiled a bit and watched what he did, she saw him laying his head in her lap. It was rather sweet, running her fingers against his head and heard him snoring she wanted to laugh but she didn't, didn't want to wake the gentle beast up. Her back against her couch as she sighed a little bit, it was rather nice to have a moment like this. She kept stroking his head, and she did not even realize it but she fell asleep petting him. Feeling the warmth of his body it felt inviting and she just fell asleep.

Seeing her sleep, he pulled him self off her and limped over to the kitchen. He groan as he shifted, it was painful but not as much as one would think. he stood naked in her kitchen, his hand was throbbing but it would mend, Especially now. He still bore his scars, and his eyes still were the sheen of a wolfs. he though was a man with a richly tanned body and was a lithe frame and nice short black hair. he smiled as he opened the fridge and began to make a sandwich, than made two one from him and one for her. He than left the house and walked down the street.

"Thanks for the aid my angel, Until we meet again" he said eating the sandwich as he smiles looking at the quaint cabin and than turns towards his house.

Eden slowly woke up after a while and noticed the wolf was gone, she was curious and rubbed the back of her neck. Was she going insane now? But she knew what happened and then saw a sandwich which she ate. It was rather strange but she did not let it effect her at all, smiling a little bit as she sighed a little bit and right now it was just rather nice. Once the morning came and she grabbed a shower she got dressed for work, and headed over to the hospital. Was pretty big for such a small town.

She was enjoying herself getting along with everyone because she was respectful to everyone. Every man, woman and child and animal she respected. And it was easily seen, she had been rather busy but took a moment to breath. She started to think of the wolf and sighed a little bit, she wondered if she would ever see him again. She was taking care of a rather sick infant little boy which was rather cute. She always wanted children, she managed to sing the little boy to sleep. And she only had an hour left in her shift.

Aden watched as you held the child he stood in his jeans and nice simple shirt. his jacket was a simple black thin denim affair and he wore a newsboy hat as he watched you. His eyes were gold and he smiled.

His left hand still was wrapped where you had bandaged it, and sewn it up. it was almost healed now. he had come to Thank you when he realized you were the new girl in town and a full human.

Aden had never met a human like you and thought to keep an eye on you. he had been gone when you arrived, having had to fight another stray seeking to claim the territory for there own. Aden fought not only him but his cronies. he came back only to get caught in the bear trap the old wolf Keagan had set for his supposed Bear men. Aden had thought he had gotten them all but apparently not.

Aden now watched and observed. he noticed your general kindness to every one despite their race or even age, or sex. She even helped animals with no fear aside from the unknown. Even here in the town there where prejudice between natural Weres and the infected Weres. he had squashed most of the most violent of out breaks but still insults abound.

Aden continued to watch you and asked a nurse for coffee, and waited. he pondered whether to introduce him self or to just continue to observe. he would have to tell her soon the next full moon was in a week, and his people here would flair up at any minute as the wolf calls to all on those days seeking to come out and be the beast, no control just wild abandon...things could bget dangerous.

Eden had no worries in the world, she was lonely sure since she had no friends or family. But she did the best to hide the sadness she felt. It took a lot out of her every day to just greet the day with a smile, and right now she was just afraid that she would never know love. But she drowned herself in the work that she did. She was turning twenty in a few days, actually her birthday was on the next full moon. But she never celebrated her birthday, not since she had been orphaned in the world now.

Deep down she started to think about the wolf again, she found it hard to think but she smiled at the thought. Eden had no idea how the hell he got out, but was glad he did not get out of there violently since he had been hurt enough. She was thinking of all sorts of things, and now it just seemed something else was missing. Seeing those eyes and the size of the wolf, it was incredible she never knew wolves were to get that big. Her stormy eyes just looked up and around and knew work was calling.

So she finished off her rounds and clocked out, once she was outside her eyes looked right up to the sky. Smiling a little as she pulled her head back and silently sighed. Feeling the warmth of what little sun was left. And since she did not live far from the town or hospital she walked back and forth. Since she hated driving and she just stuck her hands in her dark blue jeans and kept walking towards her place. Humming a little as everything just seemed to stop for her, it was nice now.

Aden followed her out side and than smiled as he walked towards her and bumped into her . he stumbled back and smiled. "Sorry Miss didn't see you there"

he held out his good hand and smiled "Named Aden, Aden Lupine, My family owns this hospital and well most of the town, we established Wolf Lake when Texas was still a territory" she said falshing a smile, his eyes were an odd amber color as he looked at you and then pulled his gaze away from your eyes to give you a look over

"You seem okay" she said looking into your eyes again and smiling.

Eden didn't see him until she rammed right into him, smiling a bit she saw the man and he was rather cute. Blushing a little when he said sorry miss, made her feel important didn't know why she was just having a strange moment. And something about his eyes held onto her, it was rather different but she was happy non the less. Seeing his hand she shook it in hers and nodded to him. "Good to meet you I am Eden Wolf just moved here couple weeks ago, its a beautiful town small and simple and even beautiful" She said.

"I was on my way to the coffee shop since its on my way home, care to join me for a cup of coffee?" She asked kindly.

He loved seeing that smile. It made his heart skip as he say it. She smiled and scratched his head.

"Sure i would love to get coffee with you, I rarely get a chance to go out, I do so much for the town i rarely have time to unwind like my sisters do. Heck even my crippled brother gets more free time than me and he had to ch...i mean saw off his own leg to get free of a bear trap." he says smiling as he holds out the crook of his left arm which ended in a simple bandage.

"How about I escort you to the coffee shop, no need for a single lady as your self wondering these streets by your self, we do have Wolves about to account for" he said with a smile as he waited for you to slip your arm in his.

Eden heard what he said and nodded a little bit, it was rather nice for him to open up like that. Taking his arm she walked beside him and thought. "Hunters should all be shot I think, hunted down like the innocent animals they hunt. And to begin with I looked up laws around these parts its illegal to hunt especially that close to a damn town. Frankly I bumped into a very big wolf last night, poor thing was hurt. I wanted to get away to a small town and just vanish you know? I was raised in the city.

And this place seemed beautiful no hunting allowed, yet I had to set him free. I am glad that I was able to gain trust with the beautiful animal. But he some how got out of my home, and I have been worried about him ever since. I just hope that I can see him again, tell me. Do you think that animals are intelligent enough like people? I like to believe all animals are highly intelligent beings and can understand. Which was why I was talking to him like another human being, am I nuts?"

"Hunters re not bad, but trophy hunters are. Hunters provide food for them selves, though the creature had to die to provide it in time that creature eats plant fertilized from the body of the hunter, trophy hunters hunt for sport, seeking to kill for some specific purpose aside from nurioushment"

He than smiles and laughs "Why yes i do I once knew a cat who could sing perfectly in tune with the piano" he says smiling. he leads you to the coffee shop, as you pass others the give you two a wide birth and odd looks a few whisper between them, but Aden ignores it.

Eden smiled and nodded "Well yeah that's what I meant Trophy hunters, they make me sick. I remember once when I was sixteen years old I accidentally hit a dog with my car, I felt so sick it was like part of me wanted to crawl into a hole and die. The dog belonged to a little girl who lived next door, I treated the dog like a human being. My mom was a nurse and my father a doctor, so I was tending the wounds like you would another human being. And quickly got him to the vets, vet told me if I had waited any longer the dog would have died.

I spent all together five thousand dollars to save that dogs life, it needed a couple surgeries and with vet bills. I insisted to help that dog for the little girl, my father paid for it but I got a part time job and paid my father off. Dog passed away last year of old age, which is why most of the time I hate driving. If I was to hit another living creature I think I would go mad" Eden said with a soft smile. Sighing a little and it was nice to talk to someone. Rubbing the back of her neck, and walked into the cafe.

When he let her in opening up the door for her she smiled very happily, it was rather nice. She ordered a coffee and even ordered him a coffee and a couple blueberry muffins. "Next time we get coffee together you can pay" She said happily and sat down. "That is if you wanted to do this, something about you I don't know what it is. I get a feel for people since I am a people person, always showing respect to men, women, children and animals. Perhaps that is why I have never had a boyfriend"

" Don't feel bad about what you did. To dwell on what happened is bad, you should dwell on the things you did to help the wounded. If the dog was with other dogs they would have tried to help, but if the dog could not function any more they would drive it from the pack and let it live or die on its own, You though showed compassion...a rarity these days." he says as he leads you to the counter.

Hearing your confession he smiled and laughed a bit" you just haven't met the right man is all, one who appreciates all you have, and all the beauty your kindness brings.I admit for I assume a virginal girl like your self to walk these streets with such an innocent face should be greatly concerned for her safety, It might not look it, but our town, though quaint can be quite dangerous some days." he says as he walks up to the counter. The line dissapates as he gets you to the counter the barista was concerned with her work she popped her head up and when she saw him stammered a bit and asked." Master Aden...and a guest, the usual" she asks a little scared as she looks at the two of you and makes a thing of coffee and than puts some liquid in it.

" For me yes but my female friend can't stomach my special flavoring, I'll have her order, oh and put it on my families tab. And Jasmine...my sisters haven't been harassing you all while I was away?" he asked flashing a generous smile as he looked to Eden.

" Please Eden give Jasmine here your order, than we can sit at the booth over there in the back" he says smiling not really caring much about the tension in the room.

Eden smiled at him and heard what he did about her safety and she could not help but chuckle a little. "I may look innocent but I can take care of myself honestly, my parents insisted at the time to take some defense courses I am a black belt in karate thought I have yet to use it. And since not had to use it, I never relax my guard even here I am always keeping my ears sharp and my eyes open. Though this place seems much different then any place I have ever been to or even heard about, can't put my finger on it"

She said simply but then she heard the girl and was curious "Master Aden? nice" She chuckled a little bit. But the way she said it, was still full of respect there was no disrespect there. She heard what else the girl said and could tell she was scared about something it was rather strange. But she just did what she thought was right. She pretty much shut up, and then when Aden told her to place her order. She looked up at the menu and sighed a little bit, everything being so damn perfect.

"I'll have the vanilla cappuccino large please" She said at the girl and smiled even more. Right now it seemed rather nice, spending this moment stuck in time. Her heart beating so much it was almost hard to hear. And it was to the point where everything just seemed so damn different, her heart beating faster and right now that she seemed happy. Her heart beating and it was beyond wonderful. She was thinking of everything that she was, and looked at Aden something about him chewed on her heart with him.

Aden took up his coffee and than took Edens as he than lead you over to the table in the back, the men there where in a discussion Aden walked up to the table and the two looked up about to say something. One was a huge hairy guy the other wiry. They went from about to hit some one to pale and bolted from the booth.

"Look Eden those lovely gentlemen were kind enough to give us this booth. please sit" he says smiling. He handed you your coffee and than smiled.

"Unless you find this very akward, We can stop now." he says his left hand apparent now, its hand wrapped as he smiled.

"But I would love it if you stayed with me and talk" she says as he smiles and sits in the booth, and drinks some of his coffee.

Eden smiled and sat down with her hand against her coffee, it was strange how the guys moved like that. Something was very different here and it was kinda creepy, but she did the best that she could. Grinning a little bit as it all seemed relaxed, her eyes looking at the man before her and it was nice to speak to him. But she did not question, she would once she felt more comfortable. Or perhaps ask once she got to know him. Looking into his eyes, his eyes so familiar it was rather haunting.

They reminded her of the wolf but knew werewolves were just stories, she had no idea that they were actually real. She respected how others thought and there customs which was why she never said anything bad. Though she may not agree with something, she never spoke up. She was quiet, though if you were to hurt an animal or another person she would rip your face off, that was just how she was. "This place is beautiful I am glad I was asked to come here, just wish hunting didn't go on here"
