It's basic economics. The more of something that there is in a particular market, the less value that it holds.

There was a time where all you needed to get a high-paying job was a high school diploma.

Then everybody started getting bachelors degrees to make themselves stand out in the job market.

Once everyone had a bachelors degree, the goal post was moved to a masters degree.

Once everyone has a masters degree, the goal post will be moved to a PhD.

Once everyone has a PhD, I guess that they will have to make a level of academic degree higher than that.

Who knows what kind of credentials that employers will demand of people 100 years from now..

All education after high school has got to be job and career oriented. It should also be practical and realistic.

If you want to be a novelist, do not major in literature. If you want to be a singer song writer, do not major in music. If you want to be an actor or an actress, do not major in drama.

I cannot think of a more satisfying career than that of a successful novelist, a successful singer song writer, a successful actor, or a successful actress. By "successful" I mean well paid.

If you study the careers of successful creative artists you will nearly always learn that they did not go to college, they did not graduate, or their college degrees were irrelevant to what they succeeded at. Success in a field like that requires talent. Hard work and determination are not enough.

Look for a skill where there are more openings than people who are qualified to fill the skill. Look for a skill that is not specialized, and which does not change rapidly.

I have read on several occasions, so it may be true, that at least two thirds of colleges and universities accept any applicant with a high school degree and tuition money. Someone who goes to one of those schools and majors in the liberal arts or social sciences has wasted time and money.

Those who love the liberal arts and social sciences, like I do, should study them on their own for free.

then the only types of jobs you can kinda get with no pds mds and degrees are in the lower class type jobs like warehouse retail and food industry
